True, the 14″ seems to be a kind of sweet spot. I originally ordered the 16″, but after trying out the Air M1, the 14″ and the 16″ several times in the Apple store, the 16″ seemed more and more oversized and over- weight. Good for stationary work when you still want to store it in a drawer or so, but just too heavy and too huge to carry it around. So I cancelled the 16″ and ordered the 14″ in return. It is also more reasonably priced as I took only 16GB and 1TB instead of 2TB.
I have an identical 14” model, and I experiencing the same Battery drain Problem. But my Battery health (6 month usage) is still at 100% (thanks to aldente’s battery menagement). When I dont use it for a day I lose about 20-30 % Battery with no apps open at all. While using it it needs 15-20%/h instead of 10-15%/h at the beginning.
BUT all this startet after the last major update, so I hope the next one will fix it🤞

Hi Andrew! Even with the strain from more intensive workflows, are you finding that 16GB is sufficient for most creative apps? (Asking in regards to single app usage, as I seldom feel the need to have multiple open at once). Thanks for your vids!

Hi! Thanks for the video! Which app are you using on the keyboard part (around 08:03) ?
MBA may 2022 currently 89% percent battery health with 200 cycles. Really disappointed
Gold standard. Thanks for the info.
8:04 what is the app you are using when learning how to type accurately?
Hey Andrew. Great video. I do mainly Lightroom and 4-5.4k video editing. Right now I’m using the 12.9” M1 iPad Pro. I’m seriously considering the 14” MacBook. You alluded to it in the video but didn’t outright say, are there any issues video editing on your build? Is doubling the ram a must, or just a “like to have”? Thanks! Gold Standard
You are the gold standard, in so many ways!
Here’s the first 7 things to setup on your new MacBook: https://youtu.be/xIormzzEYtY
3:17 Most people youse their battery wrong. What I mean is to prevent the battery from degrading as much as possible you should never have the battery above 80-90% and never blow 20%.
Gold standard indeed, Love your setup
So is it worth upgrading the CPU cores from 8 to 10? Would that affect much on battery level? What are your thoughts?
I haven’t had a single one of these issues, I’m super happy with my 14” MBP.
Lots of the comments you have seen more like not really understanding tech, than the laptop itself, either that or you have a lemon.
For example, you talking about drained battery life and not following battery care advice shows you don’t understand the Mac. It manages the battery for you, mine stays docked a lot and deliberately restricts charging because of that. So that’s what you’re running into. A few cycles of charging, battery use, and recharging would reset this.
Hey Andrew! Have you noticed the screen hinge on this particular model being a little bit “loose” compared to older models?
Have you had any issues with a clicking noise coming from this MacBook? I recently purchased one and I’ve noticed this noise from day one.
