Is there nothing without this complaining? Why can’t you start the video with the positives instead of beginning with negatives?

I currently own the M1 Mac Mini, the 16” M1 Max MBP and the 16gbum, 2tbssd M2 MBA (sold my M1 MBA to buy the M2), I use all 3 for 4k video editing and photo editing. All of them are amazing devices.

The new Air is incredible and personally I am very happy apple moved away from the old wedge design. Most of the criticism that I’ve seen of the M2 Air is unfounded or just overhyped sensationalism based on a lack of understanding of what this machine’s main purpose is. The price: it’s 2020 there’s this little thing called inflation going on. The new Air has improvements and upgrades over the M1 Air that easily justify the cost. Whether or not the upgrades and improvements are worth it to you is a personal thing. The new Dell xps 13 plus, same cost for less performance. The ssd “issue” is most likely not an issue for most and if it is then buy more UM.

Spot on view here and couldn’t agree more. I have my m1 max 16” for most things but I had the m1 air for going out to clients whilst still having ample power. The m2 air is also more than enough for that task but it does stutter where the m1 air didn’t and I too want my m1 air back. Given the cost of NAND on dram exchange puts a 256gb module of that type at sub $20 you have to ask why apply didn’t just up base storage to 512gb along with that bump in the price. Terrible really.

The M2 Macs were built so that Metal 3 works “just enough” while Apple works furiously to get ray tracing working in hardware. Games are coming…

Great video as always mate. I know this is like old hat comedian material but genuinely “my iMac is so old that…” whenever I watch videos talking about performance drops whilst exporting video it doesn’t even make sense to me. I wouldn’t DREAM of exporting a video whilst doing anything other than hoping there is enough steam left to keep the date and time running! That’s bad craic about the MacBook Air though. Like you say, it’s not a cool thing to do. And not only are you paying a premium for aesthetics alone, you’re actually being downgraded in performance for the privilege of doing so! Do you think you’ll “downgrade” to the M1 again? ✌🏻

I agree, the tapered design of the M1 Air is super nice. I have owned the Air with original design and really liked it. Nevertheless, w am still very happy with my M2 Air.

My m1 max 14” is the best laptop I’ve ever owned. Sad to hear that some users have reservations about the m2 but that’s Apple’s fault, especially with the base model and charging $200 more for a slower SSD.

Great review. I have same same with 2 upgrades. Can compare to M-1 because of wife. Ooops moment is the weight. I swear it feels at least 2 times heavier. 🙁Other than that I love the M2. Apple should of named it the MacPro light.

Yes, good review. M1 Air better in many ways. Ssd issue and swap file highlighted. Some people will just argue that the M2 MBA is better because it’s the new machine from Apple. They just can’t register any facts about why this M2 MBA is so disappointing.
