Saw the M1 for 800 at BB last week. I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s on sale for 750 for BF. That would be a steal, but I got an open box MBP 14″ for 1600 – hard to beat!
Ngl I love the macbook design, never used one since I play games and don’t really need to do anything productive, but they look really nice
My wife is still chugging along with an old 11.6inch MacBook Air, which is definitely on its last legs. I’m hoping to be able to get her an M1 Air soon, which would absolutely be a massive step up.
I’m still rocking a 2016 Pro, and even that feels the strain of any modern workloads, especially running anything later than Catalina.
Someone please help i need a laptop that i can have for 4- 5 years?
I don’t care if it can export an hour long 10k video on 1 minute. I will not buy at $1, 300 laptop with 256 gigs of slow storage. What a joke.
250gb is a joke
Bluest eyes
Pass. The notch is ugly, and I prefer a computer that doesn’t have a fan that I can lay on the bed and does not get warm. Also, that doesn’t have shit speakers that fire out facing the screen. I chose an M1 that picked recently.
Granted, the notch has a 1080p camera but oh well. FI have a I have MacBook Pro 2022.
Use Final Cut Pro instead
me, still using a 2019 pro:
I’m a programming student and iOS developer. I guess the M2 MacBook Air would run hot, just like its M1 brother, under running Xcode with multiple simulators
Am a student and I just bought the M2 Macbook Air (512 GB storage and 8GB RAM) after debating with myself on whether I should get the M1 or the M2 variant. With my usage so far, it’s an incredible laptop nonetheless with, unfortunately, its flaws and shortcomings having be so unnecessarily over exaggerated by reviewers.
There was even space in the M2 for a decent sized piece of metal. Apple literally shaved less than 10 dollars in metal on this machine and crippled it.
These “which Mac should I buy/” have become tiring and boring.
We are back to the old waiting for Apple to pulling its finger out and stop screwing its users whilst it ties itself in knots trying to differentiate its line up by handicapping the basic line up..
The M1 MacBook Air is the cheapie choice. If you need more grunt the best value is the MacBook Pro M1 Pro (what a stupid name!). All the later models are “Why bother?” Wishing and Hoping is not going to change reality.
even if i was the thpe to get a macbook the m2 air is a no go because those thermals are going to be a frequent issue in the hot climate i live in.
“13.6 inches is the perfect size. Don’t @ me about that.”
Two things: 1) [People over 50 have entered the chat] and 2) “That’s what they said.”
I’m not a student anymore but I just got the M1 Air Refurbished from Apple a few weeks ago and it’s been the fastest computer I’ve ever used. Even faster than the 2018 iMac’s at my work!
I, as a much newer model of gen-z, am fully qualified to say that the midnight M2 MacBook Air looks much more “Mac-y” than its silver counterpart.
I bought my M1 MBA for 829 on Amazon about a year ago. That was a great buy looking back at it.
Edit: I ended up buying a M1P MBPa few months back because the 8GB on an Air is not enough for a student workload. Go ahead and have a good number of browser tabs (with a book or two open), zoom, note taking app, messaging, and you’ll start swapping to the SSD in no time. So many times I had to present and it started to hang. Everyone in higher academia should go for a MBP.
I went from a 2015 MacBook 12″ to the M1 and it was the best decision ever – the m2 looks nice, but I heard of the heat and ssd issues a lot
