Where’s his LTT backpack?
I bought a used 2020 M1 Macbook air for school this semester for $500 basically brand new with its original box 512GB storage and in gold, excited to use it since it’ll be my first Mac experience
Good review, as always. If you’re going to complain about the asthetics of fingerprints on the device, I’m going to complain about the asthetics of your untrimmed nails in the video. Paint them with pride, or cut them for appeal.
This week I was able to find a 14in M1 pro MacBook Pro with the 1tb SSD for only $1400 on facebook marketplace. Definitely lucked out because it’s honestly crazy good for my small video renders and music production work and was cheaper than I could get anything comparable even refurbished
Damn bro, I didn’t think I would see a laptop with its read speeds slower than its read speeds.
Nothing against War Thunder but the game has been broken on mac for months
Thanks for the time and energy!
I ended up getting m1 pro but kinda regret it. Sure performance is great but it is heavy and bulky
Buy the M1, got it
Here’s my simple advise:
1. If you’re buying base M2 MA, then buy base M1 MA.
2. If you’re buying 512gb ssd M2 MA, then buy 512gb ssd M2 MA.
3. If you’re buying 512gb ssd 18gb ram M2 Air then buy base M1 Pro MP.
Great jokes!
I love to use my M1 MBP to prototype quick project ideas using a suite called TouchDesigner.
It’s very intense graphic and data rendering software that is VERY GPU accelerated and CPU intense, so it can quickly bring wimpy cooling to its knees
“thanks for slowing down” bruh..
I really wanted this laptop, but where I live a M2 Air with 16gb RAM + 512gb SSD costs 3500 USD in the Apple Store and 2500 USD if I pay someone to bring from the US
In that price I don’t think it is worth it anymore
the issue is that it doesn’t take that much to push the m2 into a hot state where it starts throttling. 1 poorly optimized game(auto chess) + casting to an apple tv 4k at 4k resolution with 1 videa playing in a room that does is 80 degrees or so(conserving power during peak hours. tbh, I feel that I am a light user and has always been fine on the m1 mac pro 13 inch.
Personally Mac Address videos feel like they take themselves too seriously to the point that it’s a little cringe. It’s very well made to the point that it feels like a Nat Geo documentary instead of an internet video. Maybe it’s just me, a lot of ppl seem to be loving this channel.
I’m going into university and I’m thinking about getting a Mac Studio, high end M1 Max, 64gb UM, and 1TB ssd. And then use my spec’d out MacBook Pro 16” from 2019 for general use in uni outside of my room. I’m going to be studying high end music production and I have a pretty real hobby of running final cut with multiple streams of 4k, periodic greenscreening, and a lot of colour grading, that and everything that comes with making videos, such as photoshop, light room, etc. Do you think I should get the Mac studio and use my ‘old’ (it still runs really well, it’s just hot and loud) MacBook Pro. Or should I grab a brand new MacBook Pro and use that for everything. Idk, I’m leaning toward Mac Studio but I’d like another opinion.
sorry jonathan i bought a fully maxed out mbp 14
student here, the answer was simple for me, M2 MacBook Air. I use it for photo editing, office and casual use, so the SSD isn’t an issue. I got the starlight model and it’s gorgeous.
The strangest part about this video is that you aren’t using an LTT backpack ahaha
Great video! I agree with your findings though. Refurbished M1 is a good shout- whether its the air or a pro 14.
Realistically, the average MacBook Air user might not actually push it to its limits. For example, I use an iPad Pro 2018 for basic computing and have a desktop for everything else. Apart from the ram being comically small, in day to day usage, i dont see any problems using this either, let alone an M1 or even M2 powered laptop!
