I saw the M1 MBA refurbished from Apple with 16/512GB for $1250. I thought that might be an even better sweet spot for an all around and future proof MacBook.
Sorry students, and normals can get by just fine with the M1 MacBook Air. As long as Apple has the $ 999.00 M1 MacBook Air in the line feel that this is going to be the first one they are going to purchase.
My hope is that Apple keeps the Jony, and Steve MacBook Air design around as a SE entry level $ 999.00 version of the MacBook Air. Just keep it with the previous version M series SOC for normals who just do things like eMail, surf the web, and watch your YouTube type clips.
Really a student should not be buying a macbook at all when you can get a cheap beater windows laptop for a fraction of the price. Sure the battery life would be worse, it would be heavier, and it would not look as cool, but you do not have to worry about damaging it or it being stolen nearly as much as it is cheaper and less desirable. So non-fatal damage to it is less of a big deal and people are far less likely to steal it as the resale value is much less and if something does happen to it you can buy several on the used market for the price of a single macbook. Don’t just buy a product because you think that it looks cool or because that is what everyone else has. If you really need a macbook to run some mac only software or if you just have plenty of money then fine. Macbooks are great laptops, but they simply cost too much and have too limited software support for me even now. I certainly never would have considered getting one as a broke collage student.
Lmao at the 720poo caption
As some one who lives in India where the ambient temperature is usually in the mid 30 most of the year anything that runs that hot that quickly is not going to pratical in any application.
I’ve been recently looking into a new MacBook, I’m running a 2015 13″ Pro still, and as a musician, I’ve multiple times encountered the limit of it’s performance in Logic. I have one song I’ve been working on editing for a long time, because the system is unable to playback the audio in Logic as there are too many tracks. Due to this, and my own preference for planning ahead, I believe I’d probably go with the 14″ Pro, but of the 2 Air’s, I’d end up with the M1 Air, as the cheaper upgraded price and better cooling would suit my needs better
I disagree with the magsafe thing personally, another USB-C port was the fix to me, It just bugs me to ever have more than one kind of cable now.
I got an M2 Air with 16gb RAM and 512gb SSD and I am absolutely loving it! If you are interested in getting it and you are a “student,” then I would recommend taking advantage of their education store. Not only can you get $100 off retail, but right now Apple is offering an ADDITIONAL $150 cash back! I managed to get this $1700~ laptop for only $1450 with tax!
Man’s making me nervous about one handing an m2 next to a fountain and keeping a drink so close.
Also yeah used m1 air represent!
can you also discuss about apple’s intent to put so many ads on iOS?
I bought the M1 Macbook Air w/16gb ram at the beginning of 2021 and do not regret it one bit – been the best laptop i’ve ever owned. After seeing the M2, I see no reason to upgrade, and in fact it may be a downgrade in a few ways mentioned in this video. If I was a student going into college, i’d either get a refurbished M1 Air for $850 or i’d get one on the student discount at $899. No way i’d pay extra for the M2.
For me, what kills the MBA as an option is the absurd one external monitor limit. I am surprised that wasn’t mentioned in the shortcomings of the product.
I actually bought a 2019 MacBook pro… right before they upgraded to the M1 chips… sigh…. but it’s been working for me as I mostly do word processing and web browsing on it. I don’t use the horrible keyboard; I bought myself a TKL mechanical keyboard. The Keychron K8, and I love it. It’s a good combo, and since I’m an online student, I mostly leave my mac hooked up to a dock and attached to my monitor
Get the M1 MacBook Air for $850 and be very happy for a long time
See that’s the thing about refurbished products. It’s not as if you are saving more than 80 to 90 percent when buying refurbished.
You may get a 1 lakh macbook air for around 80k if you manage to get a good deal and in excellent condition. Obviously you’ll be paying via EMI. So why not just go for the brand new, pay the extra 20k, since you are already paying a premium price at 80k. It’s as if the addiotnal amount will make a BG difference in monthly emis (only a 2 or 3 dollar difference).
SFU looking mighty fine in this one 😉
I bought a refurbished M1 Macbook Air based off the recommendation of a previous video of yours. Fantastic laptop, 10/10 good recommendation.
I heard the M1 MacBook Airs have a really bad issue with screens breaking and there are class actions brewing
I do a bit of machine learning stuff with tensor flow and I fear the m2 air may start to choke after a bit. It also may choke up during a long build or a intensive script.
who tf doesnt use fcp on a mac
