I scored it closer than you did, there were some clips where the iPhone footage looked sharper, with better dynamic range, albeit with a colour cast that I would want to remove in post, or in settings. Then there were other clips where the Samsung, with that stunning telephoto lens, was comfortably better, just wow and not a niche feature, for me, something I can see using a lot.

In that I can’t afford either phone, I’m not sure why I watched, other than it’s yourself and you’re brilliant. I ended up going with your comment that if you were to hand either phone to someone to make a video, the iPhone just makes things easier/more seamless. It’s getting past time that Samsung and others are playing catch up, shouldn’t they be doing better, on that score, by now, or are they just prioritising other important things?

I get what you’re trying to say with the balance of the iPhone but Samsung won by a LONG shot. I understand that in your case the iPhone might be the better choice, but there are tons of use cases and these cameras are used for a lot of different reasons. Just because the iPhone is better in your specific use case, doesn’t mean you should tell your audience it’s just as good as the s22 if not better because your bias comes off strongly in this video. The S22 didn’t just about win, it won by miles. There are significantly more situations and use cases that the S22 is plain better in.

I don’t get why you can’t give them the “crown”. In the S21 Ultra vs the iPhone 13 Pro Max video, the S21 Ultra won with just one extra category and then I could understand why they had to share first position. You said it yourself, this camera is a big improvement over the S21 that already shared the first position. You’re saying that even with all these improvements it still can’t be considered better?

In your last comparison the S21 Ultra and iPhone 13 Pro Max shared the crown, but at the start of this video you say that the iPhone HAS the crown. This is misleading! It’s like you’re trying to justify putting it on a shared place because you make it seem like the S22 Ultra with all it’s improvements got promoted in position compared to last years model while that’s not true.

– You “lied” about the iPhone 13 Pro Max being the king of camera’s or simply mislead viewers by not mentioning it was shared with the S21 Ultra.
– You didn’t give the crown exclusively to the S22 Ultra despite it winning in a lot more categories
– You justify it by saying that the iPhone is more balanced and better in YOUR use case

I’m sorry but this only tells me that you’re biased and it’s affecting the review.
There is also a constant negative connotation in the entire video towards the S22 Ultra. You often can’t say something positive about it without adding on a negative and basically dismissing the better result.

You’re one of my favorite YouTuber’s Arun. But the way you are biased towards the iPhone, and often put Android phones in an unjustified negative context really disappoints me over and over. I just can’t agree at all with the conclusion of this video. While you make valid points, the win is still clear.

With the s20 and s21 phones, the updates in the first few months greatly improved the cameras photo and video quality. It would be interesting for a follow-up video after both Samsung and Apple have done a few software optimisations as both are fairly new.
