7:22 How come this thing about iphone having a clearer and sharper image is never mentioned by other reviewers doing the same comparison? Could it be that your settings may have been off? I am really looking forward to buying the Galaxy S22 Ultra to upgrade from my old S9+ and video quality is extremely important for me as I shoot a lot of skateboarding videos. This thing about image quality puts me off a bit and I wonder if it is actually correct. Has anyone else noticed a difference in the sharpness and clarity of the video between the iphone and s22?

Mrwhosetehboss: To me, the most important test of a phone camera is with your eyes looking at a scene and the screen on your phone and seeing how different they are. When I feel the need to photo something, I want it to look like what I was looking at with my eyes. But no one seems to do this test. I got a few shots in this video “incidentally” but not as the main demonstration.

Here’s what I want: A high quality SLR photo of two phone screens showing what they captured of the scene behind. The SLR should be the closest thing to reality. This simple test is, in my view, the most important.

Example, we had really terrible fires in the Rockies last year and I was driving across the midwest and was blown away by the eerie color of the sky. It was completely unnatural looking and of course the cause was very tragic. It was a memory I badly wanted to capture. No matter what I tried, my phone COULD NOT capture the color. Its like it wanted desperately for clouds to look like normal clouds. But they were NOT normal. It was one of those truth is stranger than fiction moments that you had to see to believe. Same story when a child is born and you look at the photo and it does not match what is engrained in your mind. Very disappointing. My wife and I always have a Samsung and an Apple. She is in the eco system of Apple. I hate it. But when we compare phone videos and photos, our results are ALWAYS different than the reviews b/c we test to real life. Context clearly dictates who wins.. Its never only one.

The variability of the Samsung camera makes it more of a professional tool (although no camera phone would be used as a pro’s camera). The last thing a pro wants is standardization. That would make his photos look exactly the same as everyone elses.

One more thing, a digital zoom is pretty much just a gimmick. I would pretty much ignore that as a feature completely.

If you put filmac Pro on your iPhone you get full control of all the camera features that the standard camera in app does not give. Then it makes it better than the Samsung on all counts.

iPhone wins. Samsung sucks. Pathetic. I don’t care what Samsung can do or can’t. That’s just irrelevant on this match. What it can’t do is the most important thing of all take a picture as the eye see it without the phone. Reality picture I call it. iPhone looks as if your looking thru it without a screen. That’s reality picture. While Samsung just makes it’s own type of photo with its own type of colours and crap. Not everyone is a geek. So for normal people iphone wins easily.

If Samsung is so clever why don’t it stop copying apple and make a phone to release at the same time. Not 6 months later. Fucking bmw does this to Mercedes’. And audi does this to bmw. It’s all horse shit. But il make something simple. iPhone is America’s Mercedes’. And Samsung will always be chinas Lexus. And it will never be good as iPhone. So stop comparing it’s absolutely horse shit. Unless they release things exact same second then il listen otherwise makes no sense to give a flying shit.
