Hats off to your efforts
4 and 5 should have gone to Apple not a draw
I ordered the s22 ultra coming from the s21 ultra, cause I interested even in small advances in smartphone photography, especially nightshots. I hope it doesn’t disappoint
How the heck did i miss this video. I had been waiting super eagerly for thissss. Anywho. So detailed. 👌🏻
Thank you was waiting for your video on this to make me decision
Still think Samsung had best overall camera. I would still use it as a professional photographer.
east or west nokia is the best😈😈
Whatever people selected i phone always
8:02 so what’s this talk about samsung Trash quality?
Uploading photos directly to Instagram from S22 VS iPhone 13 Pro max ? Which gives better quality
SO biased, Ultra wins in every section.
Plz make a p50 review video
So Mr.who, do you use Exynos or Snap for the comparison?
I’ll never forget buying Note 10 and finding out it doesn’t have pro video mode. Luckily software upgrade brought it later on. But even to this day, android can’t give us sharp crispy 4K video, which is such a shame. Huawei could have been it, if they didn’t do what they did.
I was watching this and got an ad for the S22 ultra advertizing the camera
I have the s21 ultra and the best phone I ever owned…the oled display and how fast and snappy it is and the camera is insane good…I’ll never go back to iphone..over rated and over priced…Samsung is killing it with specs and price
Thanks for a really useful comparison! Already decided I would upgrade my S21 Ultra to this S22 just for the internal S Pen but it does seem there will be quite a few photography improvements, even if most are from software/processing.
What I would really like to see from Samsung though is a physical shutter button like the Sony Xperias. Just think that for such a photography focussed phone that would be a cool feature. I know you can use one of the side keys as a shutter but then you can’t use them as zoom controls – and a dedicated shutter button could have a much smoother press, a half-press to focus, and could also be a one-press camera launcher when the camera isn’t already open. You could do that with the Bixby button that was on older Samsung phones – even in stock settings you could remap it as a single press camera launcher. Just annoying when Samsung takes away useful features. Like the microSD card too – kinda insulting they have taken that away when cheap Chinese brands can include it on phones 20% of the price.
Can you no longer choose 2x zoom in Portrait mode? You mentioned 3x is the default but 2x and 1x are both available on my S21, I’m sure in your initial review I saw a glimpse of the Portrait mode interface without 2x available anymore. Hopefully I’m wrong and it’s still there! Would be nice if Samsung provided a better quality short telephoto camera though as that is going to be a very popular camera for portraits. Even better if they would be able to use a similar sensor size as the main camera with the same aperture (f/1.8) lens just at a longer focal length, so you can get a nice amount of natural background blur.
Regarding the shutter lag and potential for blurry moving subjects – interesting that Samsung didn’t do some feature similar to Google with their Face Unblur in the new Pixel. Don’t know how it works – whether it’s just quicker at picking a fast enough shutter speed, potentially using AI for predicting if a subject will move, or whether it actually uses some kind of image stacking i.e. takes one lower shutter speed shot for the rest of a scene and faster shutter speed for a face, merges the two and uses more intense noise reduction & processing on the face to compensate.
One consideration: Samsung has yet to push up camera software enhancements for the S22 Ultra. I know on my S21 Ultra, the camera seemed to improve continuously over the last year. I think a few releases from now, many of your points may be addressed. Since I love travel and hiking, the zoom on the Samsung has allowed me to largely leave my DSLR and even my Panasonic Lumix at home.
Watching things I can’t afford
Do consider having a Samsung S22 ultra would be… Logicly !
