Thank you for doing so much work for making this comparison, however, I believe a much more appropriate one would’ve been a direct comparison to the S21 Ultra (Plus, whichever higher) or the Note 20, whichever is better of the two. Yes, it’s good to see how the most popular companies compete when it comes to their flagships, but to show if the “upgrades” are incremental or either a big leap, it’s more important. Might that be next video and that’s in progress as of now? (or you are not allowed to do that yet until the full release.. which we all know what that means when a company does that – might wanna hide something).

Great video, as usual, Arun.
One thing, though, that confused me a little was your conclusion.
You were, it seemed to me, comparing the phones not just for content creators but for you average person.
Yes, considering what content creators would need but thinking about … maybe NOT actually the average user … but the advanced non-content creator.
The person who really wants the best phone camera and the best phone but does not specifically make youtube videos.

So when you take away your specific preferences – how do the phones fare.

You yourself gave the Samsung phone many, many more points compared to the iPhone.
7.5 for Samsung S22 Ultra vs 4.5 Apple iPhone 13 Pro Max
That, on its face, give the Samsung the right to be called the better phone.

Otherwise – why did you use these topic headings at all?
You chose them because you thought they were important – not just to you but to all of us.
And on that measure, the Samsung was an out and out winner by a whopping 3 categories out of 12

I know you use the iPhone 13 Pro Max now, but that does not mean it is OK to utterly ditch the categories you created when another phone wins by such a margin.

You can say the Samsung is the winner, but you still prefer the iPhone for the reason you mentioned, but to simply not give the phone its due … was an omission and did not reflect what you have shown us in front of our eyes.
Also, saying it is better than the one they released last year … seems like also something of a cop out.
“It won by miles, but let’s not say that .. let’s say it was a draw instead.”
Not so, sir.
Not so at all.

You were the one who said “versus” – you pitted them against each other, and you were the one who chose and graded the categories.
To then refuse to speak the result and try something to make us say that regardless of the margin of the win – they are ‘both good’ … is less than anyone would expect of you.
You don’t have to use my words or even say winner but to say “They both are good” … when one got 7.5, and then the other got 4.5 is either to ignore the obvious or expect that we would … and I know you would not do that.

Loved the video.
I am always amazed by how much work you put into them.
It is intimidating – you are such a professional, and we can always rely on y9ou for the depth and the context to each of t9oue statements and opinions. You really do rule, and I cannot wait for the battery test!!
However … the eocnculsionon this was missing something in my very humble opinion…
I would very much appreciate your thoughts on my absolutely overly long comments on phones that I cannot even afford to get, haha.

Thanks for this comparison. I’ve already pre-ordered the S22 Ultra (although did come close to getting the 13 Pro Max), so it’s great to know the camera is in the same league as the iPhone. I’m really keen to see your battery test though! Can’t see the S22U getting anywhere near the 13PM, but hopefully it’s a bit better than the S21 Ultra, which apparently wasn’t that great for such a big phone?

In the end,
it can be said that today the ultra of Samsung and the iPhone are both cameras at a very high level.
The only one is the experience.
While at Apple the experience will be simpler for photography
In Samsung it will be a bit more complicated but on the other hand it also makes the photography more interesting and more controlled by the user.

I’ve always had iPhone and I’ve not even watched the vid yet as the adverts still on the screen but I know the iPhone hasn’t got a chance next to s22 ultra tbh

In android world only Sony gives you consistent and balanced experience.. Each camera is 12mp.. Each camera has similar sized sensor and experience is seamless

Samsung has had the equivalent to “cinematic video” for a couple of generations before apple, apple fails in getting well defined the subject and the background, adding some blur to the subject/person in which samsung does it a little bit better (to me).

Good job. I know your an Apple fan and it shows in this review.
Night mode goes to Samsung and Samsung is easily the overall winner here.
Most people are not content creators and this you failed to call out. An average user wants to take photo and videos for sharing with friends and family. Samsung has beaten Apple in photography and they are same on Video.
