You can clearly see the careful evolution of the iPhone. Almost every new feature in software or hardware has its place and has stood the tests of time as most of them still remain today. Every removal of something was also thoughtfully done and coupled with actual use case scenarios that people eventually saw the point of, like in terms of convenience, and just overall progression of tech. iOS design that people thought of being boring, have also aged so well, because they never stray too far off their original design language, philosophy and all the “governance” that were attached to it. You can trace a lot of things back to the UI of the first ever iOS.

I’d love to see the Android space, starting with Samsung, see how their knee-jerk decisions have affected how their line of phones. How are they aging, what remained, how unclear they were with their design philosophy etc. All the things that would affect their collectability and desirability and overall story in hindsight.

I have no idea why, but the way the iPhone 4 screen looks and with the colors and the how the apps look has always looked amazing to me.

I think iphone 4s is the biggest leap in generation over any iphone. People didnt understand the significance going from single core to dual core back then. It still stands as the longest supported iphone until iphone 6s.
