Every iPhone I’ve bought since the Iphone 4 has been a dud. Still though I’m addicted and keep buying them.

There’s another model you didn’t mention: the iPhone 4 CDMA on Verizon that debuted in January 2011. This was the first time the iPhone was offered on a U.S. carrier other than AT&T. The phone design was a different because the mute switch was slid down a bit and there were 4 antenna lines instead of 3. There was also no SIM tray. The 4S would have this same design, but with a SIM tray. Sadly, the 4S was introduced the day before Steve Jobs passed away.

The Verizon iPhone 4 was my first iPhone. Several iPhones later, I now have the 13 Pro Max. Awesome phone but I just wish it were a little bigger!

The 6S is where I entered the iPhone world. It was the first iPhone that could beat the flagship Samsung on benchmarks and run so smooth. Ive never found and Android that has tempted me back.

I was a smartphone enthusiast when the original IPhone came out. The rumors was that it would be called the Apple Phone. In either case I was a huge critic. I was a Windows Mobile user back then, and I had an HTC MDA.

I still don’t think the original IPhone was as good as the HTC Windows Mobile devices at the time. But the original IPhone did remove the physical keyboard and didn’t use a stylus. All decisions seemed really boneheaded at the time. But just a few years later even android started ditching the physical keyboard.

Also a few things worth mentioning. The original IPhone was an ATT exclusive and was not available at on other carriers. I also recall there being models without sim cars, so it’s odd the MKBHD had a SIM card model

If you weren’t there for it you don’t know the struggle when the iPhone first came out. Everyone was making an “iPhone killer” but they didn’t understand the first thing about what made the iPhone great and were clueless about the era of the smartphone it was leading to. They were just regular phones. Bigger screens. More media features. But just the same, regular, shitty phone full of proprietary and barely functional software that nickle and dimed you for nonsense. Adding to your monthly bill for things like RINGTONES. It was a bleak world before Android finally established itself
