Marques, I know we don’t want to get too hard into the vs battle, but one thing that really was a huge deal from 5 all the way up to X (and honestly only getting back to par) was that iPhones had really small displays relative to phones of a similar size in the android space… Like sure Apple has done more to keep the small phone alive, but they also have done more to kill it than anyone else by hobbling them for a decade with such abysmally uncompetitive screen body ratios (up to the 12 mini anyways). It’d be cool to have that comparative discussion with hardware features per year etc. The normal iphone screen up to the X was so tiny when font needed to enlarged, people gravitated to the plus, but if they are going to have a big phone, why not get a big screen? And so we have all the small devices squeezed out.

I’m surprised you didn’t mention a big reason the iPhone 4 was so popular! Before it you could only have an iphone if you had at&t. Their service in my area (and I’m sure others) was awful, so almost no one I knew had an iphone. With the iphone 4 the branched out and you could use other carriers, specifically Verizon. Once this happed, anyone could get an iphone.

My first iPhone was the 5S series. I really love the Android Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3. What do you think of that particular phone?

The 5 era was my favourite design, followed by the X. The original black 5 was just beautiful, two tone black and soooo slim and light. Didn’t have a 5C but loved how they looked too.

Then the X was just so cool to me, I always wanted an iPhone that was almost all screen and it was just beautiful to look at.

The black versions of the 4S, 5, and 5S are the best looking iPhones and most important, in my opinion. That 2011-2013 time period was a REALLY exciting time to be on the Apple Train. the 5S was my first smart phone, and it was the only 64 bit device I owned at the time. Crazy.

Correction : iPhone 6S and 6S plus also supports iOS 15. Since iPhone 6S came out earlier than the SE, it is the oldest iPhone supporting iOS 15

as someone who has used the iPhone since the 3gs, and shared that love for apple tech with my Dad when he would buy a new iPhones, I would get his last gen. This was super nostalgic and may possibly be my favorite video on all of Youtube!
