Regarding the “is there another word similar to ‘Pro’ that they can use in the future to continue to upsell”—I actually think the ability to upsell was mostly a function of dropping the “R” after the XR. The iPhone 11 was basically an iPhone 11R, it wasn’t an OLED and the resolution was less than 1080p, so in some ways it was a downgrade as compared to the Xs (which was the previous “baseline iPhone”). But instead of keeping the R, which made people think of it as the less-than-baseline iPhone, they dropped the R, which made the 11 the “baseline iPhone”. They subsequently had to add the “Pro” to the OLED phones to differentiate between the two. I think that was kinda brilliant, people still liked the XR but always thought of it as a non-flagship—they remade the same phone with an extra camera, dropped the R, and suddenly that became the new “baseline” iPhone.

Awesome video. I still feel like the 4 series came out a few years ago 😅 an android version of this would be awesome. More change, many big companies falling out and the design becoming quite singular across all companies in the last few years.

It is striking how ergonomic the first iterations were. Like a pebble, so very much designed for human touch. In this sense, all subsequent generations seem inferior.
