Hi 9to5mac!

I just got my 15 inch macbook pro 2018. According to “About this mac” – Graphics says: Intel UHD Graphics 630 1536 MB and not Radeon Pro 555X. Is it the same or what happened here? Thanks for a great channel!

The fact that it’s 2018 and Apple is still selling computers that use 1440×900 resolution displays is laughable. That hasn’t been considered high resolution in ages.

Macs always scare me. They charge you $2000+ for something that may or may not work. I’ve heard about throttling problem a lot. I’m not going to pretend I know what i’m talking about, but i’m an audio engineer and I need a powerful MacBook that is a powerhouse. I can’t have buffering, latency, voltage and throttling problems when recording and monitoring instruments going through layers of plugins. It can’t happen in the industry. I have to buy something and it just work. It’s got to be ready at all times. I can’t just stop what i’m doing and say “welp, sorry guys, computer problems!” doesn’t work like that.

Would this Mac be good for high-volume music production and live mixing?

hey @9to5mac, have you seen the BetterTouchTool app yet? its a nice feature to really make use of the touchbar. I wrote scripts for all my favorite things i do when browsing. for example when on netflix, my personal button looks up the imdb score of the title i am hovering over 🙂 as a programmer, is scripted some stuff in the terminal as well

But have you guys wondered why the bezels on the MacBook Pro are wider? I see no reviewer trying to investigate this instead of just blindly bashing Apple.

The reason for this is because, those bezels are a result of MacBook Pro thinner design. Compare the Dell with MacBook, the lid is much thicker on the Dell than MacBook, because MacBook tapers down to give the illusion of an overall thinness.

A certain thickness must be maintained to house the display, so it is impossible to push the display to the edge without making the lid thick!!!
