first
time that apple listened to our complain

Welp, time to go into debt 😉
He says the keyboard is a piece of thrash. 😂
Finally your review
(0:07, 2:25. 15:16) Random unnecessary shots of Jeff just placing his hand on the MacBook Pro for no perceivable reason.
I’m still trying to decide if I want this but thank you for the information. 👍🏽
That’s a great and balanced review! And the production values is astounding as usual. In an alternate reality, you would not have had to spend several minutes on the keyboard
I’ll consider this MacBook pro next year when it drops on price. Right not it’s to high. I got kids to feed 🤣
Is there any chance that when Apple finally comes out with a new (scissor) keyboard for the MacBook Air that it can be retrofitted to existing MacBook Airs? I’m dreaming, right?
Popping noice ?
2:41 is that a Trump reference ?
I don’t trust Apple as a company anymore. Something is bound to go wrong with the laptop after time, and when it does, be prepared for an absolute nightmare dealing with their fragmented support who seem to be hellbent on making the repair experience as frustrating as possible.
Thank you for sharing your review, was pretty cool. I have a question, why do you pick that configuration?
The keyboard was not that bad. Never had a problem with mine. Had over 300 of them in work , 2 failed ( one of them was due to coffee spillage too ).
Great review
jeez I actually like the old keyboard
It maybe the fastest, but it is far from the best.
Until it reclaims upgradeable ram, battery, and storage, sd card, hdmi, usba x2, separate mag safe charger that does not steal a valuable port away, headphone in and out jacks both with digital audio, infra red reader, status light, battery level indicator.
Repairability that does not require a mother board nor whole new top case..
The keyboard longevity is still in question, and the clickless insanely huge hard track pad is too big and hard on the fingers,
But for speed and finally a competitive base graphic card, and an 8GB option (still far behind the Nvidia 16GB Quadro, rtx 2060,2070,2080 mobile chips) is a huge improvement.
Obviously all of that is not going to happen, by maybe some?
One easy fix is to just include a multiport dongle that gives back ports of the 2015 macbook pro in the box (but apple took away the ports to sell you dongle, adapters, and new cables, that is what usbc, and soon usb4 are for).
Mag safe seperate port with fast charging would be easy enough and good for the 100 watt battey, and would save a usbc port, yet you can still charge slower on usbc in a pinch.
sd card is a must, at this price point upgradeable ram x2 and upgradeable ssd x2 is a must.
It use to be apple made it easier on it’s laptops than anyone to change out the ram, ssd, and battery, and still had great design.
What happened after Jobs?
Make sure to buy apple care, out of warranty these are a huge risk as doing anything can cost close to $1000 or more after it expires.
And apple makes it almost impossible to get legitimate parts to fix common failure points.
They have challenged the right to repair every time.
The resale is not as high as you think on 2016-2018 models.
It is the 2015 model that kept its value the longest because it has had a lot fewer problems and those problems can be fixed easier by technicians, and those parts are easier to come by.
SO buyer beware of all 2016-to early 2019 macbook pros.
Thank you for this. Love the bit about the screen resolution changes. I’m going to try that on mine. I just got it the other day.
Great video Jeff! I’m really looking forward to your compairsion tests of built in gpu vs egpu. Can you please use the razer core x with the amd 5700 xt for that test?… I’m looking into getting that setup along with a new 16″ MBP
