It takes a long time to drain the batteries. You should have had beer to pass the time!
Regards, Mr. Alex. I saw you have Microsoft Volterra. Can you install and examine Macos Ventura with UTM virtual machine on Volterra with Arm processor. Thanks in advance. Have a nice day.
To be precise. The test should be of work done. Not full blast for x seconds. The new ones should do things faster. Maybe saving battery
tfw alex fights with alex and alex wins
thrilling!
Dang 87% health after a year is quick!
Nice Test. Thank you
I appreciate your work 👍🏼
what a dumb and pointless video. the m1 max would have lasted longer with 100% capacity. this has proven literally nothing
It seems to me that if the total battery capacity on the M2 Max is 100% and on the M1 Max it is 87%. So the time should be shorter for the M2 Max and reduced to 87% to be fair. What would be the approximate score for M1 Max 3:38 vs M2 Max 3:13
((3:36)216min x 87%=187min/60(1hr)=3hr13min.)
Unless I’m wrong 😉
I’m sorry to say that but this is not close to a real world test. As you max out the CPU for the same time on all machines you can’t take into account that some CPUs are faster than others. You have to hit them with the same task on the same interval. Like building a project every 10mins or so. If you just want to compare them you could also run the tasks back to back and count the completions until the battery is dead.
I wish i watched this before i bought my MacBook. I was under the impression real world test withs MacBook’s were 17 hours of battery life. if its around 4 hours i could stick with my windows box as its basically the same usage.
Great Video
The 87% battery health is a factor too.
But the M2 series à more powerful, I think they get the work done faster. It’s why they probably last longer and are therefore more efficient !?
Great test as always.
Maybe showing your last 10-day battery & screentime is more convincing than doing it with py :D
There seems to be an issue with sensor readings on m2. This high number actually isn’t the processor but power supply (?). On my m2 max even on the heaviest loads processor never exceeded 90deg C.
Thanks, I waited it)
I thought air would last the longest. Interesting.
Subscribed to you for Android Studio benchmark. Expecting a video on M2 Pro vs M2 Max
4hrs not 18 ? :/ cpu load was on 100% ? how long you can play youtube video ? long time ago i bought mac at normal usage i was able read web and youtube for 7-8 hours i try game dead in 45min :/
I have a M1 air with thermal mod(worst for heat decay of all MacBooks) @154 cycles and 93% capacity because I use aldente 🙂
that means that the battery will last about 3x longer with aldente since the decay accelerates 🙂
at least get the free version folks!
Dunno why I wasn’t subbed, but it worked! Don’t ask, don’t get 👍🏻
