Love the desk, it metal?
If apple upped their gaming abilities, I can see PC building moving. If people are happy to pay £1500 for just a GPU apple could carve market here…
Of course it destroys. Every stationary machine destroys mobile, thats obvious
HP Omen 45L with 13900k and 4090 beats your benchmarks by double and costs $1000 less. It doesn’t have Thunderbolt and it’s a massive tower. But I have it connected to the Studio Display. The M2 Ultra is behind the 13900k on several benchmarks and the 13900k is a year old
All lies because Apple gives them products and they don’t want to say bad things, reality is if you are working in Premiere Pro Apple sucks if you work in Final Cut then sure it might be fast, apple lies but in reality Mac is slow in premiere pro, better get windows and who is gonna be spending $9k lol
I appreciate the review, which is super helpful to me because I too am a Premiere editor (plus I do a lot of After Effects as well) and I just ordered the Mac Studio M2 Ultra, upgrading from an M1 MacBook Pro. So getting the opinion from someone who is calm and doesn’t get all elitist about the tools they choose to use is super helpful. Thank you!
Video about making videos. It’s an endless loop.
I will use it for word processing. Are you sure it can handle that?
Actually the most professionals use Davinci, where that 5 minute export will take about 2 1/2 minutes 😂.
I use Uad and have 3 pcie cards so I’m buying the max pro
Yeahhh was great to see this pop up during the conference, because I was a gnats ass away from getting the prev gen studio. I am still running the ol iMac Pro but do have m2 MacBook pro for field use. This is gonna be a nice upgrade. Wait…did I see a game bug at 4:02? This is the way to roll compared to going with even a base Mac Pro.
Why the fcking hell are you showing us openCL results???!
Still mulling over the decision between m2 pro mini 12/19 w 32 gb memory vs m2 max mini 12/30 w 32 gb memory (in both cases, 1tb storage). These are exactly the same price and from there it would seem obvious to go with newer machine, possibly better cooling, card slot, etc — *and* an option to double the RAM.
The counter-argument is: I have been doing great with my i7 mini of ten years, which needs replacing only due to OS and software obsolescence. I make rather short movies using imovie, but have dabbled with my Final Cut. I surely appreciate fast response in my Affinity programs for graphics, and I use Logic extensively. One time, with both imovie and Logic open with extensive tracks and movie editing, I noticed the mini *may* have been responding a little slowly…. but other than that, no problems at all. 4k videos? 3D? Lots of photographic/video plugins? I don’t do this fancy stuff.
From researching so far, seems the only advantage to the base Max chip is in graphics. That’s not a bad thing for all I know.
It seems like compared to i7 the m2 pro mini 32gb would fly crazy
I don’t know if upping the RAM to 64 will be all-out wonderful thing I will appreciate, esp over the next ten years… or if there are arguments against so much RAM if I do kinda “prosumer” stuff for my gig with movies and music.
Is there a downside to increasing RAM?
Why are you reviewing this, and why am I watching it? $8,799 it’s a joke!
Comparing it to an M1 Ultra Mac Studio would’ve been good to see too, but I’m sure that’s coming. They say for the extra 4 cores, it’s only 13% faster.
Another apple sponsored you tuber. Hereby i will unsubscribe.
There are two questions: Can it Crypto mine AND can it play Crysis Remastered?
If you’ve got it flaunt it lol.
The M2-ultra Mac Pro desktop is perfect for complex medical and scientific computing tasks that benefit from high bandwidth RAM, PCIe I/O cards and as-fast-as-possible PCIe SSD RAID 0 storage in order to manipulate multi TB 3D datasets. It “might” also happen to provide pretty good performance for more mundane computing activities such as video and music creation and editing, architectural modeling and 2D and 3D graphic arts… LOL.
Nobody seems to have reviewed Gaming on a high spec M2, with the Dev Kit.
