Looking to get pros. First generation are naturally heavily discounted and can get them for about $65/£60 cheaper than 2nd gen. I’m not a regular flyer and since Covid WFH so don’t take noisy public transport. 2nd gen new features would be nice but aren’t deal breakers. First gen seems much better value and would be fine, right?

Excellent review. Great information very well presented. I was on the fence until you summarized how these were only a souped up and incremental upgrade to the existing AirPods Pro. They do have some very enticing new features but overall I feel it would be wisest to save my $249. Thank you very much for your review.

Mine come today! I’ve only recently switched to Apple phone / watch, and have been happy so far. I’m not sure I’ll end up staying with airpods over my galaxy buds pro, but I want to at least give it a fair try.

Okay, maybe an idea for a comparison, but how does it compare to a full size headphones? such as the 1000XM4, 1000XM5 or Airpods Max? I currently have the 1000XM4, but may want to buy the Airpods Pro 2 🙂

I’m glad you added the audio sample as that’s a massive difference. I found that with the gen 1, I needed to use fixed spatial audio to get any decent sound out of them as the gen one audio quality was extremely underwhelming and I’m not even an audiophile but my Cambridge Audio Melomanias were Miles better for less money

Honestly I like this track from Epidemic Sound. These days songs are all about inserting rap. And if I say calm, it will go all the way to become extremely fragile, where I can’t hear the intent of every word, in the name of sounding “aesthetic”. I miss the days when songs like Closer were released which were vibrant without being unnecessarily tense.
