Why did you say “Can you imagine, there’s an actual escape key there” when there has already been an actual escape key on all touch bar macs. You can see it in the freakin B-roll.
Both can get the M1 Max chip
The notch is nothing to worry about because previous models just subtracted that space anyway. The notch allows the menubar at the top to occupy the same row as the camera thus giving more height for the actual app windows.
In other words. It’s adding display where it was simply below the camera in previous models. It raises the display up thereby removing the penalty for having a menubar – so YEAH it’s awesome!
The new displays are, quite literally, top-notch.
?Is this weird? I am using the 2015 model and never worked with a touchbar on a mac. Kinda wanna have it haha and now it is gone haha
I’ll stick to my $600 HP Ryzen 3, thank you very much. Heh.
Love:
– Screen size
– Performance
– Screen refresh rate
– Battery life
– Removal of touch bar
Dislike:
– Magsafe; why?
I _liked_ magsafe but I like uniform connectors more.
Right now I use a dock with the same port I use my charger.
With this I will charge with one port and use a dock with another port? The dock will charge through the other port which is janky.
I also like to change the side that I charge my laptop from all the time, it’s convenient.
– SD card slot
Content creators are not the only pros who use macbook pros.
I’d rather have had another thunderbolt connector
Neutral:
– Notch is kinda gross but whatever
Questions:
– Multi monitor support?
– Multi-monitor through dock support?
– What’s the expected dock-based workflow? You can charge with thunderbolt or magsafe, so I assume you just ignore magsafe when using the dock?
– Built-in 4g/5g support? Probably not but still want to ask
I like the Touch Bar
s1999 only 8c
These look amazing – but they are so pro they make me think they aren’t for me. When it’s time to upgrade my 15 inch MBP, I’ll be deciding between a 14inch Pro or an 13inch Air. Partially my needs have changed, but also the pros are more pro than ever and the Air is more capable than ever.
I think their cool laptops but the fact that you don’t have the option to run windows on it because it’s m1 really kills it for me if they still sold a Intel version I would get one
Techno Buffalo here
I’m interested to see benchmarks cause there seems to be a bunch of different variables with different core counts
Idk man I really like most things about the 14 inch, it the notch might be a deal breaker for me. Will have to check it out in person to see if it’s too bothersome
For me personally, they only mean that I can probably pick up a 16/512 version of an M1 MacBook way cheaper in the nearer future to replace my late 2013 Retina MacBook Pro.
A 14“ will however become my work machine later next year as I’m due for a replacement then, which will then become my personal machine three years later, and for that I’m excited for the first time in quite a while.
99% of people who will buy either of the MacBook Pros will not fully use the power it has. Most users do browsing and streaming – that’s it. Something a simple MacBook Air could handle.
I feel like if it was HDMI 2.1 they would have said as much or had it listed on their website. pretty disappointing imo
Why does it have that MASSIVE notch with a tiny camera in it??? What a waste of space.
Macbook Air 2022?
That notch 🤮🤮
