Not really a review, not really new info, more like a specs sum. How does the thing perform???
Should this be called the Baby MacBook Pro. Like it wants to be one but is not quite there yet.
Anyone else think he sounds like inspector gadget? 😂
They went with the Y series Intel processors and that is quite disappointing for the price!
With its new pricing scheme I’d invest a little more in a MacBook Pro 13 Inch without the touch bar, 256 Gigs of Storage and 8 Gigs of RAM at $1500, but the huge difference is the processor and the graphics chip, which I’m really surprised you haven’t come across in your ‘review’, the Air’s are just not enough to do anything.
Might as well spend a extra $100 and get the pro model non touch bar instead, its thinner than the old 13” air……..
Nice review! Made me chuckle.
I really like this laptop, just a shame it’s not $999 – this is making me, and a lot of others agonise… why Apple? why you put us thought such pain???😩 😂
Overpriced and underwhelming. The original Air was the thinnest and lightest 13” laptop out there. This is neither. The original Air had one of the best keyboards. This has arguably the worst. The original Air was somewhat affordable. This is more expensive. Apple should have either sold this computer for $800 if they wanted to focus on value or made a 1.7 lb machine at this price if they wanted to focus on thin and light and make it a true Air.
Retina screen is a big pluth
Seems just another compromise for a lot of money. Best fingerprint reader? Seriously? Man you should listen to yourself bragging about something that is way under the competition these days. Good night and good luck
This video makes me want to take my MacBook Air to the bar now.
Lol I shouldn’t laugh but ‘pluth’ 😂
Look at how much unutilized screen space is when watching a standard 16×9 video on this device due to those bezels. Not much for an edge to edge display like the dell xps 13. Also retina is qHD resolution, not even 4k which is almost obsolete in 2018 going 2019. Macs again has fallen below Windows and until they become the top dog again, I’m never buying one just yet
I do not own a single USB-C product except for my phone. That’s why I’m not on that bandwagon. I would never buy a Mac and if I was given one I would install Windows on it. That’s just how I am. I think it’s a nice laptop. Just the lack of IO really hurts it for me. I like my DVD drives, USB-A ports, SD card readers, and all that stuff. I wish laptops still came with dedicated line in jacks but I can manage without it mostly since I still have one with it.
Uhh….you DO know that the Dell XPS 15 comes with USB-A’s and C’s and HDMI….right? So no….NOT all modern laptops as “all USB-C….All the time”!
The Macbook Air 2018 also known as The Macbook Pro 13″
I don’t know why everyone tries to recommend the MacBook Pro (2017, base model) over the Air (2018). MacBook Pro has the second generation butterfly keyboard, which has e high tendency to break and is costly to repair. As MacBooks don’t have a touchscreen (I don’t say they should) the physical keyboard is the only way to write something on this machine.
It indeed looks like a commercial, not a review. I won’t repeat after others, I will point out something else. Resolution is not 4x bigger – it’s actually 3 times.
1100usd for 128gb… My balls have more storage… And why jack 3.5mm? What happend with ligthning conector for the earpods? Wtf is wrong?
That no one can afford.
