Since Safari is a weak browser, any features for that aren’t really useful. Facetime messages? That’s more interesting

I wish apple would bring CUSTOM THEMING to the OS. I m getting sick of all the white panels and lack of colourful icons, hard to read text colours, lack of buttons, lack of hierarchy and depth etc. eg we currently have light mode and dark mode, I hate both, but use light mode as i work all day in a well lit office and mainly do productivity work. but there is too much white areas in all of the windows. I would also like the ability to add the TITLE bar back to applications, as its hard to drag around windows. I would like to change the TAB lists in say Numbers/safari/etc from a horizontal view to a sidebar vertical view, so i would like custom themes for apps as well.

Really informative video. Thanks Andrew! I’m wondering if Siri has been improved as I constantly face dictation switching off or stalling after about 60 seconds? This happens on both my Mac, iPad and iPhone and it drives me nuts!!!?

I thought Mac OS Sonoma update was underwhelming other than the gaming stuff which I welcome and the pdf enhancements. Chromebooks, Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge have had web app and shortcut creation for ages, plus support PWAs. The most important update such as a touch screen capable version of Mac OS is still missing, and the Mac OS UI is beginning to feel legacy. I think Mac computer sales volumes will continue to be at risk, because these computers fail to cater for a whole younger generation who have grown up in a touch computing environment, such as touch screen Chromebooks and Tablets. There are days when I go to touch the screen on my MacBook Pro to do something and realise, I can’t do that, and I am old fart who grew up with VT100 terminals, FORTRAN and assembly language! Apple silicon is fantastic but has also come to represent so many missed opportunities for Apple. This WWDC’s Vision Pro announcement is the most innovative thing to come out of Apple in a long while, assuming they haven’t priced themselves out of the market. Whereas the Mac Pro … RIP!

Ive grown to be suspicious of apple updates, my entry level m1 is still in monterrey, very worried that those updates kill my battery/performance. Ios 16 made my 13 way worse.

Is gaming mode finally going to fix the laggy performance I often get on my magic touchpad? Some gestures, especially trying to move the pointer left, has clearly been lowest priority in the stack. This has been an issue for me for years spanning multiple MBPs, multipel touchpads, and multiple macOS versions.

The update feels like 20 minutes using chat gpt

You can have great hardware but if the software is rubbish
Where are we going to use the full power of ai in the backend in thinfs like fully normalised databases and when are we going to get photorealistic icons
Or ai ways that analyse how far we move our mouse and work out which things we use most
I have an android phone so i dont care about continuity camera

If apple cared about gaming they would use vulkan and directx
They would also sort the fight between epic and the unreal engine
