Sound engineer here. 80% more bass is an absolutely meaningless statement.

teardown is one thing but resembling it… oh boy😩
Great. Now we only need a replacement display, that’s not hardware restricted to 500nits, while not showing HDR content.

What’s your idea for repairing a raspberry pi?
Throwing it out and buying a new one?
I certainly love the device, but I would argue it is vastly less repairable than something like the Apple Mac mini.
I mean, at least it has some… Parts?
Rather than just being considered a single part.
Those spudger tools are made from a glass reinforced/filled nylon right? So I would definitely expect the glass strands to leave scratches on almost anything but hardened steel or tungsten carbide lol.
god the replacable battery is cool af! almost makes me actually wanna buy a mac, but the lack of replacable ssd makes it a no, and the price too.
Pro ought to be pro, even in repairability side.
i actually think an extra 1mm for a bracket battery which will be changed once, maybe twice is not worth it
I never would have thought to call two of them macbooks pro instead of macbook pro’s
I rather spend my money on a good windows laptop knowing that I could upgrade both the storage and the memory. And get almost the same performance as the new MacBook. I have a 2012 MacBook. With all new ssd ,memory and batteries. And it’s running great. And unfortunately that will be my last MacBook. Thanks apple for trying to nickle and dime us. SMH!
actually possible to repair is very far from repairable. I don’t see anyone actually changing a port or cleaning a fan on this laptop. Even changing the battery is a pain…
A 4 seems like a fair score.
Soldering those storage chips onto there looks really easy. Obviously not a diy for most people though.
The speed of the M1 really does depend on integrated memory – the speed of electricity is actually a limiting factor, and shorter paths are better. On the other hand, I’d like to see the SSD socketed, so it could be swapped out without desoldering. The performance hit, if any, would be worth the tradeoff IMO.
This video will help me when I buy this mac in 5 years and have to change the battery
This video gives me way too much anxiety. haha.
He just destroyed a 3000$ laptop in front of our eyes…
finally… the m1 pro! now alas i dont need anything for heavy lifting anymore. just web browsing – so im good with a lowly macbook air.
