Fun to watch
I love this laptop so far. The screen, keyboard, IO and the speakers really make the upgrade worth it.. Oh and the much faster SOC.
Watching pro level tear down is so satisfying..i wish u dig deeper in the logic board though
Honestly what’s the point of gluing the battery?
I have 0 interest in repairability, but I do like seeing the inside of these things. Thanks!
Such good video
Is the keyboard replaceable without replacing the whole top case now?
I don’t mind soldered SOC if that’s not a common failure point. Who would even have to replace their SOC? More important would be to have a modular keyboard which is obviously not the case.
Your background music sounds like someone’s calling on your phone and you decide not to answer it whatsoever.
Now, I can’t unsee the angry owl inside.
who removes thermal paste with a spuger?! o/
Why didn’t he remove the keyboard? That’s the first thing to go bad
Yeah, they intergrated the memory into the SoC, so ofcourse it’s not user replacable. That’s because there is 0 distance between the CPU and memory making it really fast. A socket is always a conversion interface that slows things down even the fastest socket on the planet right now won’t be able to compete with a direct link. This goes for cpu, gpu, ram and storage.
They could make it a special board though, that only houses these components and has a socket for a daughter board with IO. It would be an expensive board, but easier to repair and even upgrade.
At least changing the battery will be less challenging now. Still miss the easy access of the 2012’s MacBook Pro though.
I miss the female host

I think you should have lifted that little black secure up.

Can you replace the battery and touchpad on the new MacBook Pro? Are they tied to the laptop like an iPhone?
no! no! i need to know why you like the pull tabs…. NOOOOOOO jk
