The best thing about apple finally prioritizing functionality over form is that other companies will follow, which means better windows laptops.

I love this machine I just hope macs would one day get engineering software. Until then I’ll have to stick to windows.

In all seriousness – you tend to do software development, imaging, or video editing with additional monitors – thus at work. So it’s rather irrelevant that Intel laptops consume more power. For the typical on-the-go work, you usually don’t require massive compute power. And the notch – there doesn’t need to be a camera on the screen in the first place – it can be on the base unit (or if you don’t like the perspective use an external one). I, for one, hate the notch. Apparently, Apple does, too – they are trying to hide the notch in their product shots.

Mine is promised in the first week of November- I am a photographer trying to load and process 80 MG raw files from a Sony A7riii into a Mid 2015 Macbook Pro with a small hard disk. The fans are deafening and speeds are slow.

I am looking forward to the promise that Lightroom is optimized for the M1 and the performance from the laptop equals all that i have heard!!!!

Thank you for this review. Your analysis of this model vs the Max reassures me I made the correct choice with the Pro.

Watch in a few years they’ll add the Touch Bar above the function keys :,) or at least I’m hoping. I’m gonna miss that bar for word suggestion, emoji’s and video scrubbing which is useful for skipping ads on Hulu

I need advice on what specs to buy! I edit 4K commercial videos for real Estate agents and also 4K real estate walk throughs. I got these same configurations but with 16 GB Ram on the 14″. Will this be enough? I am going to be switching to Premiere but currently use Davinci.

oled is not used on laptop because it is subject to burn in. thats all. not a single IPS or apple XDR display can come close to OLED. period.

So if Mathew moniz is to be believed, Dave 2d must be wrong then.
Oh wait did Mathew just say “if you’re doing anything for long” that the fan comes on? And for long he means 10 minutes? Does anyone know any “pro” that uses their computer for less than 2 hours at a stretch?
Please take you time any know your stuff before you do a review.

Anyone knows why I see this mac reviews and they never open the notebook to see all their electronics. I think there is pressure from the brand not to do it. If it weren’t for other brands to authorize the opening, reviewers were already bankrupt.
