If you are asking yourself this question, then you don’t need the device right now. If you truly needed to upgrade, then you would get one right away.
I want to buy a 16 inch MBP for my new architecture school which means i have to use some pretty heavy softwares. Problem is i dont have much knowledge about what the upgrades do and which ones i really need. I have a budget of around 3000€, any recommendations for upgrades?
Will the more powerful GPU version of the 16″ increase performance of Logic Pro X, or is it only really an advantage for video use and gaming? Thanks.
Him: “…and your laptop broke yesterday”
Me: 👁👄👁
Cuz it did…
Hi buddy, so far was the best video I saw about MacBook pro. I have a question. I just bought my laptop 16inch as well but every time I’m watching youtube and try to make the video full screen my laptop is freezing for 2 second and if I get out of full screen same thing . This is my first time I own a apple computer and is this normal😂
Thanks again
Woah woah wait…. is it 100% confirmed that the new apple chips wont run windows because that would be a deal breaker for me waiting…..?????
Question? I recently order a MacBook Pro from Apple. It says that it’s coming from Shanghai China is that normal. I just worried it could be fake or damage.
Hi @GregsGadgets great video! Aside from being a new YouTube blogger, I am also doing some xCode to make apps, but I have recently sold my 2012 MacBook Pro as I need something that will be compatible with Big Sur. Just after I sold it, the announcement was made for ARM MacBooks so I am in a predicament. I feel that your video covers a lot but one of the things that wasn’t mentioned on the video is the fact that Apple is very unlikely to release a 16” ARM Model this year, meaning 16” onlookers will have no choice but to purchase this Intel MBP you are reviewing, then swap in the next 2 years if we really do want an ARM model (which I do!).
Thanks again for the review and keep up the great work Greg!
Can anyone guide me the best laptops for cloud computing?
thank you! worth watching
YouTubers/Video Editors: Gee I wish the MacBook Pro had an SD card reader.
All other pros: Awesome! Four highly versatile ports that I’ll use and no SD card reader I’ll never use.
Thanks man! This video will probably make me wait another 6-12 months for the new line of Silicon Macbooks. Mine mid-2015 is still running great but obviously I miss the usb-c performance.
This year apple will release a Apple silicon 16 MacBook Pro ? I need a super powerful MacBook Pro so I don’t now if I need to buy now or wait for the new MacBooks
What monitor do you recommend, not the Apple One, another one? That really fits the quality of Macbook Pro Quality?
I think now is the perfect time to buy a 16-inch if you are using a computer for work, and reliability is just as important as being on the bleeding edge of technology. While perhaps not groundbreaking in its changes, it’s the best laptop Apple has made in many, many years and it finally reflects a flagship with a case design and cooling system that is appropriate to the CPU/GPU being used. They did everything extremely well, and it makes for a very nice piece of equipment that you quickly appreciate especially when you are using it 12+ hours a day. I agree the webcam could definitely use improvement, although it seems most videoconferencing software is so bogged down that they can’t even sustain 480 in many cases. I also agree the touch bar doesn’t really benefit productivity…I am glad they added a physical escape key. In some cases though, the touch bar can even hinder productivity by increasing the steps I must take to perform specific actions…customization with a third party app certainly improves this.
Apple’s ARM Macs will likely be amazing, but they will almost certainly face teething issues, likely delays, and potential reliability/longevity issues with first gen versions depending upon the extent of component changes. The reality is that’s happened with Apple in the past when making major jumps (e.g., 2011 15-inch dGPU, 2012/early-2013 retina screen peel and screen burn, 2016 artifacting and keyboard), and it’s happened to other makers as well. It should all end up great in the end, but it’s not going to happen overnight and probably not as fast as most people expect. Finally, it seems possible the somewhat higher-TDP CPUs seen in the 16 inch will probably be replaced later than the lower-TDP CPUs seen in the Air and 13-inch Pro.
As for support, it seems likely Apple will support many Intel Macs for quite some time. Big Sur is the first OS to drop support for the 2012 Unibody MacBook and iOS 14 will continue to support the iPhone 6S and first generation SE. While the last PowerPC Macs didn’t get new OS’ for quite as long, they got security support through 2014.
Will this (the 2399.00$) run 2 or 3 old school runescape clients?
Great laptop, but my GOD please throw away this gimmick and give me my F1 -F12 keys !
Buy one for bootcamp!
Well yeah, that’s what we expected
Im buying a mbp 16 tomorrow because i need a new computer and im borrowing one for classes right now
