I have a 2018 15″: MacBook Pro I9. Will definitely wait foe Apple Silicon.
I don’t know if I’m gonna buy the next generation of MacBooks; I need the Windows compatibility to run some development software that today I run under VirtualBox very well in my 15 inch MBP 2017. When I have a PowerBook (1.67ghz PPC G4) I use VirtualPC from Innotek (then buyed by Microsoft) and it runs so well, that the speed of those programs were very acceptable, but now, I don’t even know if I will have the option to run any form of Windows with x86 32bits and 64bits instruction set.
Greg, 3rd option… will Apple release one more 16” MBP with Intel 10th Gen CPUs ??? .. if so when is this likely ? — I’d be more inclined to wait a few months for this option rather than purchasing a 10 month old machine, or waiting 1-2 years for an ARM model.
I haven’t watched the video yet as the ad is running. But as I just ordered one yesterday and expect it to be delivered tomorrow, I hope you’re not going to make me feel bad about my choice – as, while I lothe the noise the fans make and I want an Apple chip version, I think that’s 2-3 (maybe 4) years out (for me).
Can you do a video about how you can use iPhone as a webcam on the Mac when doing zoom/video calls? If that is possible. Thanks.
Still waiting on mine to arrive =/ UPS can’t seem to be bothered to deliver it even though it’s in my state now for about 1 and a half weeks now.

People will kick themselves for getting one of these old-timey things so close to the release of the new ARM ones. There is just so much more that an ARM laptop will have to offer compared to an Intel machine.
Yes sure, throw another US$299 at yet another dongle manufacturer. And why lament the absence of a SD card slot when this is also Apple’s vision for a better future. Actually, any breaches of this legacy port assassination should be severely punished by the dedicated in-store blue shirt congregation, if someone in their trademarked glass stairway premises is caught with a dongle. But then again, there is an aisle at the upper level at Sydney flagship store, proudly displaying these appendices at unreasonable prices. All the legacy ports you mentioned are still in my Lenovo Thinkpad, yak.
What’s with setting your laptop up to watch with friends whilst having a communal dinner? The world is getting weirder by the day. Otherwise, a clear and background music free presentation.
Just ordered mine yesterday! Don’t want to wait until april/may 2021 for the ARM version. And with the world we are in who knows if it will release then. Also if after it’s released and reviewed, why not trade in and upgrade!!
What if I just want a minor update or a mini-LED display?
I got the 13” MBP 2016 with touchbar.
Did he just say, “foe-ward”?
Hi Greg I don’t want spend that much money what would you suggest 13 inch base model with 16 GB ram upgrade is better option for average pro user ?
Currently I don’t need something like the 16 inch MacBook Pro, but if I need a high grade laptop anytime in the near future, then this might be the one I look to get. Unless the silicon Macs come out before hand, then I’ll look into getting one of those.
The two most over talked point are 1) SD card slots and 2) the touchbar. 1) not everyone who buys a MacBook Pro is a video editor or content creator so why add a port just for those people when a dongle handles it just fine? 2) there is absolutely nothing wrong with the touchbar. I do not understand why anyone would prefer function keys sense you can still use those on the touchbar.
Great vid but audio is so out of sync it’s really distracting
I just bought mine yesterday, since I can’t wait until the end of the year to get a new computer, still trying to adjust to the size difference but I absolutely love it so far.
It’s actually only been around 7 months, rather than a full year.
Bought my MacBook Pro 16 2 weeks ago! I won’t worry about ARM Macs anytime soon!
in your opinion, When MBP16 refresh spec like a intel gen10?
