Thanks. I’m done guessing, or evaluating, or even thinking about it again right now. I was leaning towards the M1 chip and new MacBook, but I especially want the screen space, and more importantly rendering speed. Now, 7 months later as you stated, it has to be a little bit less expensive (I hope!). It’s where I’m leaning right now anyway, and I’ve been waiting a little while to pull the trigger on this one. So I think this video finalized that decision. Regardless, thanks for all of the great content.

I’ve also been using the 16″ max and its by far the best laptop I’ve ever owned. I’ve used both windows and apple laptops, and this one is in a league of its own. the battery life is next level, but another thing I really appreciate is that when I’m editing 4k video, it doesn’t even get hot. I’m not talking little fan noise (unlike my old gaming laptops I used to edit video which were jet engines) I’m talking 0 fan noise, can’t even hear it. that doesn’t exist anywhere else that I’ve found. its amazing.

I always say this. Best device is one which be transparent during use. If its adding no hurdles to workflow, no matter how boring it be, it is best.

As a dude with mad battery anxiety the MB Air has been a dream. I’m a developer and don’t need the fancy screen the Pro has, plus the air is so portable it’s ridiculous. I finally have a laptop I can throw in a bag and work on all day.

I’m more excited to see Arm chips on the bleeding edge than anything else, when the day comes that I can slap a solid Linux distro on a powerful Arm laptop like the M1 macs, that’s a dream come true for me.

I have one complaint but it’s a big one. Literally. The trackpad is way too large. Accidental touches and right clicks constantly. I keep hoping I’ll get used to it, but every day I find myself wishing it wasn’t so dang wide.

That was sarcasm, by the way. I have never understood being a fan of one company or another. I have always said the same thing this video does: use the right tool for the job. I’ll never understand the fan boy flame wars. Why would you ever game on anything but a PC and why would you ever create content on anything but a Mac? It’s not about one being better than the other at everything. It’s definitely not about being a fan of a company and defending them to the death. It’s about using the right tool for the job.

This is why this channel is one of my favorites for tech reviews. The reviews are always founded in unbiased practically. They also have the added bonuses of being well written and looking and sounding great.

You didn‘t mention lack of USB-A port, which is one of the biggest drawbacks. Normal people use them A LOT, meanwhile I can‘t even remind myself if I used SD card in the last three years once.

Based on you admiring Apple for Getting useful ports like SD card etc back, I remember Steve jobs said once… “Sometimes when you innovate, you make mistakes. It is best to admit them quickly and get on with improving your other innovation”

I ever only bought one of Apple products which I still own but had to flash the firmware in order to use it on my terms, and I have disliked Apple as a company for its practices ever since.
I really see the appeal of the efficient power management in some tasks.
For once, I really hope that other companies will follow this trend. I’m pessimistic however as Apple can optimize from hardware to processor to os to software while competitors can’t.
Still, the chip is great for content creation but not really good at some other tasks, research before you buy.

Webcam looks like crap. Not only is the image soft but skin tone is reddish which looks unprofessional since coworkers might think you’ve been drinking.

i’ve lost worktime with Adobe in windows that would blue screen for reasons. I’ve lost worktime with Adobe in MacOs that would crash for reasons. You choose your own poison. Lol
