I don’t use a laptop but the M1 MacBook Pro and air were game changing on release. Crazy era we are in.

I had an old netbook which consistently gave me 15-18 hours of battery life no matter what I did with it. Long battery life with a laptop, even if we only use a small share of the available capacity, is so liberating.

a dream machine for final cut pro user, another story if you work on after effect, 3ds max, blender, and a bunch of other non native m1 or just very baddly optimised m1 versions

I’m usually not too fond of Apple products, but between this and Dankpods’ review I have to admit this actually looks pretty tempting, especially with how much of a mess Windows 11 is.
Lack of USB A, Numpad, and the butt ugly notch kind of turns me off though as far as minor gripes go.

The port situation is absolutely not admirable. Dell or Lenovo would have fixed a glaring problem within one model year, not what felt like apple’s 8. This company is a scam, great SOC or not.

wow. I just counted the ports on my 2013 MacBook Pro 15 and and the new one is missing a single port over the old 2013 model I have. that difference being made coming from this computer having 2 usb A, and 2 thunderbolt 2 connectors. but this has 3 thunderbolt 4 connectors, plus the sd card slot, hdmi, headphone jack and MagSafe. I’m so proud of apple for doing this. I hope they will change things for the future of their lineup like the iPhone pro lineup and other devices, maybe giving us more choices. if they do, and I’m able to adapt to iOS like I could with Mac OS, its very possible I might jump on the apple bandwagon…

but that’s a big IF they change things for the pro iPhones. I doubt they will, but if they do… I’m just sayin

It’s so nice to see the MacBook Pro coming returning to its former glory. But to today I am at a point in my life, where I got a good Windows laptop from my employer and at home I only need my phone. I needed this device 5 years ago. Fantastic work again!
