Unanswered question is WHAT RESOLUTION to game on a MBP Pro or Max at high/highest settings expecting consistently 60fps+
Use game that are common like csgo
if you’re on an intel mac, run bootcamp and you’ll get double the performance out of fortnite than trying to do it on OSX
apparently parallels are developing without much help from apple either, it seems they aren’t able to take advantage of the graphics cores considering the equivalent poor graphics performance on both chips. i have a theory that apple doesn’t push game development to maintain a “pro” ideology for their computers, away from the burden of implied immaturity/childishness.
Slim picking of the same native AAA games and most of them are old.
If Mac gamers want access to decent number of modern AAA games it has to be either through Parallels or Crossover and unfortunately the benchmarks are disappointing.
The other obvious way to do it is have a Windows gaming PC, which many Mac “gamers” have to do.
For high end computers – Macs can do the work, but can’t do the play.
The blame ought to be focused squarely on Apple that the Mac platform is and will continue to terrible when it comes to AAA games.
Does anyone know if frostpunk works????
What if you need to run Windows programs for computer aided design or cnc computer numerical control software
Great insights even though I don’t game. Is there a reason no one is testning the Max 24 core GPU option against the base model and Max 32 cores? Should be a good balance between performance (editing video from Sony a7SIII) and battery life? 🤓
did you not have stuttering on Overwatch?
It’s lovely to watch your videos but I don’t want the same video with the 14″ because the performance will be a bit worse because of the slightly worse thermal system but may be better than the 16″ in shorter sessions because of the less pixels
Could you test gaming while using an external 1920×1080 (or around that) resolution external monitor? Interested to see how the MacBooks preform at lower resolution
Sorry but 20-40 fps is not gaming

Why not just get a windows laptop and game on that instead of a Mac
If you care about gaming don’t buy a fucking MacBook lmfao
I thought performance mode was available on the 16″ in general. Is it only available on the 16″ M1 Max configurations?
Another fab video. What about an iOS game like Genshin Impact, where the aiming capability a mouse would bring would really really upgrade gameplay?
Playing with a trackpad instead of a mouse hurts my soul, lol
Can you also show games on even the maxed out versions – i.e. M1 Max with 64 gigs of unified memory ??
APEX LEGENDS IS A VERY POPULAR GAME NOW CSN U PLEASE TEST THE FPS WHEN U TEST TYE 14INCH
