No. Its a ripoff. Get the M1 Air or M1 Pro Pro. Both better deals.
Would it be a fairly safe bet of a MacBook Pro M2 Pro/Max later this year? If so I say wait and see how the entire range looks post upgrade cycle.
Thanks for review 🙂 wait for Multitasking test.
Top notch web cam 🤣🤣🤣🤣You Legend
Could you shed some light on Air M2 vs Air M1 from a programmer’s perspective? I know Pro is a better bet but honestly it doesn’t make any sense to put in the extra bucks for Pro when your company already provides that.
your test showing different results than MaxTech, how come?
Is MacBook Air M2 good for professional video ending ?
I would like to see a me air vs zenbook s13(ryzen 7 varient)! They are the main competitors against each other…
I have ordered for 10 core GPU 16 GB unified memory, 512 ssd varient of m2 MacBook Air.
Personally I’m more interested on getting the m1 air 16GB but it’s not available in any physical store here in PH unless you will order online which will take forever to arrive so I think I’ll get the m1 pro 14in instead.
Battery life compare between MBA and MBP 14?
it should be common knowledge by now and essential to mention in any review, that apple really f-ed up and the 256gb SSD in the M2 is crippled by using only 1 nand chip and dramatically slower even compared to the M1, and that this has a big impact on certain very real world tasks. this doesn’t apply to the 512gb models.
you give yourself the opportunity to mention it when you repeatedly give bad advise in saying that its not worth upgrading anything, although for many people the 256gb M2 will actually perform worse than the 256gb M1.
sadly, this definitely earns you a dislike today and i think you should make a PSA to warn people NOT TO BUY THE ENRTY LEVEL MODEL.
The comparison between Air M2 16/512 and m1 pro 14” base is just what we need.
It doesnt have faster memory… its about 50% slower than the M1 (comparing base models)
I’m planning to get M2 Air, but confused between 8gb or 16gb of ram. I’ll be using it mainly for UI design in Figma and little bit graphics design in Photoshop.
pretending to work from home…. XD
Not have a compact design of 35W charger for the UK plug unlike the American plug is kind of a bummer!
No “MacBook Air” branding, but apparently a larger Apple logo on the other side? The price increase makes sense given the years at $999, and the supply chain issues with chips and inflation which isn’t going away for awhile. If the M1 MBA EOLs, it’s possible the M2 price lowers, OR with next-gen it’ll return to $999, but getting ahead of ourselves since this just hit the market. This new MBA really is the best product for this customer — leaning towards the prosumer; if you need something major for performance in a laptop, you should already be looking at a MacBook Pro. Great to hear about the battery life in real-world tests.
As a 16inch daily user, is the lightness worth it would you miss the 16inch?
It’s far too expensive for what it is, at least imo.
256 Gb of storage, and 8 Gb of memory is ludicrously low today, and it seems as if Apple purposely kneecapped the base version of the product in order to upsell customers to more expensive macbooks, or upgrades. Even my parents who mainly uses their laptop to answer emails and look at cute cat pictures online need more than that, because they do store some basic images and video files. Sure, one could use an external SSD or similar, but then you’re artificially forced into living ‘dongle life’. Given how few ports are availible (2), you’re effectively losing all but one port.
So a storage upgrade might be ‘required’, if you often use more than one port, but given how expensive the upsell is to 512 GB, and especially if you also want the 16 Gb of memory, and suddently you’re paying basically as much for it as you would for a 512, 16 GB version of the 14 inch Macbook Pro, without getting any of it’s *much* improved features.
