8gb ram one will use more ssd for swap, which is not good in the long run, as the SSD is soldered. 16gb ram is also more future proof. 8gb is good at the moment, but wait for 2-3 more macos versions and you will thank for buying the 16gb.

Anyone here have any idea if 8GB Ram MacBook Air can handle 1+ GB size PSD’s in Photoshop ? I’m kinda like a heavy designer creating higher resolution artworks, I feel like MacBook is gonna throttle during that time…

No. MacBook Air is not compatible! From firsthand experience. Please don’t! You have to get the MacBook Pro with an Intel chip for it to be compatible. It will kernel panic. Program errors doing things like trying to select a brush to delete a selected area.

Hi, great video! I too bought this Mac. But, My imported photos from Lightroom to Photoshop open up zoomed in (even though it says 25% at the bottom left corner, it looks zoomed in 50%), I can’t see the whole picture as before.

Now I have to click Fit Screen on every picture I import before I can work on it.

Any suggestions?

the way your showing load times isnt accurate. its not a scientific way to illustrate the speed as u scan thru images.

When I zoom in with a photo in Lightroom on my Macbook Air with the M1, the image isn’t sharp. When I do the same on my Imac, the images are razer sharp. How come?

I confirm. 8GB version is more limited.

8gb for lightroom is not enough. After 20min it slows down a lot and gets very very hot. Every time im editing some photos I have to do some breaks becaouse of very low perf
