Guys, what should I buy between :
– MBPro 2019, i5, 8Go RAM, 256 Go SSD
– MBAir 2020, i5, 16 Go RAM, 256 Go SSD

(Don’t pay attention to the price)
My uses are : streaming, word, excel and few videos editing with iMovie.
I want upgrade the RAM of the MBA because I use an extern monitor and open a lot of tabs.
But if I choose the Air, is it better to upgrade the RAM or the SSD ?

I put it an order a few days ago but cancelled it when I saw it didn’t have a heat pipe connecting the heatsink to the fan. For some reason, it irks me. I’ve repasted my MacBook Air with thermal interface material since it’s 10 years old, I can’t buy this because of that fact. Heat will ultimately kill this thing 3-4 years into it’s life. Which is probably by “design.”

I’m pretty sure it is overheating… no CPU should reach 100 degrees celsius while browsing or watching videos, but the macbook does, especially because the heatsink is not connected to the fan.

Apple knows this and they decided to launch the device like this because people will say it isn’t a flaw when it is, it’s your money and you should hold the company accountable for these choices. it’s a 1000$ laptop..

Sticking with my 12” MacBook. Sure, it’s the slowest Mac released in the past 5 years — but it runs totally silent, with no fan, and maxes out the processor temperature at just over 80 ºC.

Between $1k-1.2k 13″ ir 14″ for school, desktop replacement (egpu), it seems like either the hp envy or the surface laptop 3 might be the best bet? The razer blade stealth, xps 13, g14 and spectre seem to be a bit higher up in price.
