I’d believe you should leave heat engineering to Apple. They know what they doing. Easy for you to sit behind a camera and give your 2 cent opinion, why don’t you make your own laptops.

I just got my MacBook Air today and im thinking of returning it. I see so much comments about how the CPU is getting killed over time because of the heat and stuff and I want a Laptop that will survive at least 3 to 4 years. I really really like Mac OS and I don’t really want to change to windows but if the Macbook is really bad and will die in a year I will change for Sure ( at least to a Pro model with better cooling). Can someone please help me if I should change or not. I mainly use writing Programs, browse and hear Music, the basic stuff. I don’t want any Windows fanboys who tell me apple is for idiots. I just want to know if the MacBook is worth keeping or if I should change the model.

Is it ok for light video editing? I don’t really do that much in my edits I just record sound separate from video sometimes also I want to do some podcasting with my Auido interface

I bought the i5 yesterday after looking at all the video reviews. I decided the i7 was not gonna be giving bangs for bucks. Gotta wait for mid May delivery now. I use Xcode mainly.

I’m seeing varying battery life results online. Some are saying as high as 10 whereas others are more around the 4-5 hour mark. Did you get the 8-10 hour range by doing general tasks (web-browsing, emails, etc.) or by running a video loop or something. I’m looking at this exact spec just for general tasks, absolutely zero intensive tasks like photo or video editing.

Matthew, you are the best reviewer ever! I have experienced exactly the same thing you have mentioned from 4:33, the problem number one, when it gets hot and the fan is spinning all the time that is unacceptable for such kind of a business laptop. Unfortunately, I have already ordered before I saw it… Nevertheless, thank you for your sincerity!
