thank you for making this video. the reviews other tech channels made about the heat/fan problems made me consider on buying a pro even though i’ll only use the macbook for school with daily web browsing, watching videos, listening to music and playing a bit of minecraft from time to time. it just sucks because in my country, i can’t really customize on which upgrades i want unless i order it from apple directly which would take at least a month or two for it to arrive but i’ll need the macbook for school at the end of this month. so i’ll have to go with the higher model air.
could the adobe premier pro run on this?
I’m a college student and i’m planning to order myself my first macbook ever but i’ve been in debate about 8 or 16 memory? It’ll be used for everyday things, google docs, music, zoom, netflix and so on. which do you recommend ?
you always have the best reviews!
MacBook Air 13″ 8/GB RAM, 128/GB SSD, i5 1.8 GHz, 33,7 cm is the same computer as this one? Or…?
Does the MacBook Air hear up when multitasking and being on a zoom call ??
Guys, does it heat the same with google meet?
Will i be able to do app and web development using it?
Hey
I am CS student looking to buy a macbook. I do basic programming , MSoffice , youtube , atom editor and intelliji. Is mba with i5 enough for me or should I go for mbp. Also , is it wise spending the extra money on mba with 16ram than base model pro. Please reply. Being a student , I don’t want to spend more money than needed.
Your reply is greatly appreciated.
I just want to ask, I order myself the most basic model of MBA. I use it for very basic photoshop editing such as for Facebook ads purposes and some basic video editing through premiere pro but majority of the time is mainly on photoshop and of cos day to day use like YouTube and read of mails. Will this basic model of MBA, i3 256gb 8gb ram suffice? Looking forward for your reply. Thanks!
My man recently found your channel and I’m super impressed ! Crazy good Content. Subbed and will stay tuned for more videos. Also thanks for this video !
Lots of comments about fan noise and temp when you’re hosting a Zoom call (as opposed to participating) – Any comments?
he sounds like Daniel Radcliffe from Harry potter
I love my MacBook Air, for me as a student is perfect, but the only problem is with Google Meet, heats up and the fan turns on, that’s why I have to upload the Macs fan control, but great video, saludos desde Mexico
Do you have recommendations on mouse? Usb-c and usb-a mouse
Is there a way to reduce the turbobust index or frequency in macbook air 2020….. i am assured that if there was a way to reduce it the laptop would not get hot as it gets….
Also i know a program which allows you to switch off the turbobust completely! But that is not something i am seeking for ….. though it helps with the heating issue substantially!
Thanks
Just bought my i5 MacBook Air.
To anyone who’s worrying if it will overheat when using zoom, it won’t. I purchased MBA 2020 i3 last week, and I’ve been using it daily for zoom online classes which take up about 4 hours. It gets hot at some point, but I never heard any loud fan or such. I’m more than satisfied with it.
Edit: What I didn’t like about this product is its battery life. It doesn’t last long like what I expected it to be. Other than that, no more. The webcam isn’t really great quality, but I’m fine with it.
I’m just ordering my new macbook air today! I’ve had my last macbook air for 7 years and never regretted the purchase or considered returning to a PC laptop. It’s a 2013 model and still runs great today, the only thing is that the battery doesn’t last nearly as long as it used to (for the first 3-4 years it was ~9-12 hours of use per charge depending on what I was doing, then it dropped to ~6-9 hours, then in the last year it’s more like ~3-6 hours). It’s been well worth every penny of the $800ish dollars I paid for it in 2013 and I’ve never had to do any repairs or had anything fixed. When the new one arrives, I’m going to be giving the 2013 to my friend’s daughter who is just starting middle school, so she can do her school work at home and not have to fight for time on her parents’ computers with her younger brother.
I teach second grade for 8 hours through zoom with 25 students, I also use other tabs on safari and run other apps at the same time to teach. I make sure my MacBook Air is at 100 percent at 8 in the morning. By 10 o’clock it’s about 23 percent. I literally have to charge my MacBook Air three times a day. On top of that I still do my normal day to day stuff afterwards, plus my graduate classes which uses zoom. It also overheats and the fan should be noticeable like that. From my experience I wouldn’t recommend zoom for teachers currently working remotely, maybe for students. Even before virtual learning, i had the normal day to day tasks such as streaming, email, YouTube, papers for grad school. Back then Apple told me to get a pro for those tasks instead of the air. I slowly understand why, but now, I definitely need an upgrade ASAP. For people like me get a PRO. I just have o figure out if the i5 or i7 be better.
