Great video as always! I would love to here your advice. So next year am going to university of computer science and i want a new laptop. The macbook pro entry model costs 1670 euros and the air with the i5 costs 1355 and i cant decide which one suits my needs best. I will use it for youtube, Netflix, writing docs, research and coding. Which one do u think i should get? Thank u!
Not quite true! I also got the same Macbook Air (i5/256G) and the fan just too loud when using Chrome or Zoom.
When I do a long video calling with Zoom (camera on, sharing screen) the fan reaches 8000 rpm so quickly (takes 5 mins to reach 8000 rpm from ~2700 rpm).
When watching a long video (1080p) on Youtube using Chrome, the fan slowly spins (from 2700 rpm) up to 6500 rpm and stay there.
Maybe this is because I normally connect my MBA to an normal external display (1080p display). If this is the case, the MBA is still not a good choice for basic usages.
I think he just done several short tests and came up with his conclusions.
One thing that’s I noticed is that the newest MacOS version improves the thermal system a little bit.
When i first saw the MacBook Air 2020 for £999 I didn’t like what it offered for the price so i got a Lenovo Gaming Laptop instead for £750 and i love it. I’m not hating on the specs of the base MacBook Air I’m just saying it isn’t that good because the fan isn’t connected to the heat sink which presents thermal limitations. This review was great well done man.
Should I buy the MacBook Pro 13 with 16GB DDR3 RAM and 8th gen i5 or MacBook Air with 16GB DDR4 RAM and 10th gen i5?
It’s nice looking as always but Apple is not what it use to be in terms of Dev and qc and about half of the machines will be thermal duds and other half will be fine especially now that they are switching to arm architecture they really have a B team doing OS X Intel updates
ask me a question, if the person uses the macbook for work, without video or photo editions, but use the safari with several pages at the same time, use youtube, netflix, videoconferences with the zoom among other video call platforms … downloading documents and using pages and numbers(iWorks), will the macbook air get too hot, to the point of 90 to 100 degrees celsius?
would it be recommended to take the base model of the macbook pro?
my concern is the issue of overheating of the macbook air and in relation to harming the computer over time
Can this do zoom when you are the teacher host with 40 participants students?
To the point.
Keep it up..this channel gonna grow fast.👍👍
Great video brother. Keep rocking! I have a request. If you can, please make a video about usc c hubs/adapters that you would recommend as there are so many dongles now in the market and few of them are misleading and confusing! Thanks a lot.
Do you still use this, or the 2020 13″ MacBook Pro
how can you see the Macbook’s Temperature, where do you go to enable that?
Pls can you help me choose between those Macbook pro 2020 1299$ and surface laptop 3 base model for coding tasks, android app development, and web development. I have a maximum of 1300 USD to spend. Please help me
Which model is good for coding i3 or i5?
hey! I’m a business student in uni so I don’t really do heavy work on my laptop. however, i do plan on getting into photo editing soon so i’ll definitely be using photoshop and maybe after effects. should I get the air or pro 2020? i’m afraid the pro might be overkill since i’ll only be using photoshop but i’m also afraid the air might be slow
This really cleared some things up for me *coughs in thermal throttling*
Now I’m definitely getting an Air
Thanks a lot for the video!
Thank you so much! This was probably the best review ive seen so far hahah
MacBook Air is not even a laptop…. an example of design flaw…… in 2020 we all use zoom call, MacBook Air crashes multiple times… I have been a MacBook user for 12 years but this machine is messed up. Get a 13 inch base model even for simple task.
Wonderful, precise, easy to understand review. Well done
Well, on your past videos i was realy sure that i will buy an Air i3 or i5. Yesterday i had the Choice to test an Air with i5 and 512GB RAM in a Tech Store.
I Open Safari with 6 tabs. One tab was YouTube, the other 5 tabs was websites for research like wiki, pubmed and stuff like that. Beside i also open up Pages.
So i open on YOuTube an 1080p video, the research sites were still open. After 2 mins i feel that the middelpart of the Keyboard starts to get pretty warm to hot. i was shocked. Max Old MBA 2017 never gets warm.
BUT: the Performance was realy Good. No langging everything was smooth while using but only with a pretty warm Hotspot at the Keyboard area.
I did not recognize any fannoise. Maybe it was too loud in the store.
So my decision is, that i will buy an MPB 2020 base or for saving Money the MBP 2015 13“.
Air i5 512GB 16GB should be no problem for CS degree right? I bought it for my university.
