I’ve watched some videos comparing the performance of the i3 version and the i5 version when doing the so-called “everyday tasks” and there was no real difference between them. It appears that the i5 does not give you any advantage while surfing the web, writing essays and so on; the i3 handles this stuff just as well. The i5 would be – theoretically – superior with more demanding tasks but you have to bear in mind that doing such tasks in not encouraged on the MacBook Air. That’s why I wonder whether it makes any sense to upgrade the processor. Sure, you would have the quad core and so what? It seems to me to be an upgrade for the sake of an upgrade with no real world benefits. Am I wrong on this?
Great Video Mike! I myself think that the MacBook Air is a GREAT machine, but personally I’m probably as a video editor going to side with the iMac 4K from 2017, just because if the improved cooling for my 4K video editing projects. Do you think that I should reconsider the MacBook Air, I have a price range of around £700 bearing in mind? (Also, I noticed that you used the Toko pack that you featured in one of your other videos, also, you’re SO Close to 6K Subscribers so, Congrats Mike!)
You said degrees when its celsius and you said firstly twice. Just some small pointers if you want to succeed in the long run. Keep up the great work!!!
Its celsius not degreeeeeess Omgggggg gett it rightttt
Great review !!!
Good and clear info. Thanks for addressing question posted. 👍🏼
I really appreciate this! I just got one then watched a video and the girl was like ya it sucks. So I’m glad it’s not bad. Upgrading from the MacBook Air 2015
Great video. I was torn between the MBA i5 8gb memory and the base model MBP for editing raw pictures in lightroom. I guess it’s safe to say the MPA i5 will be just fine?
Awesome video bro! So please do the accessories video for MacBook, will be very helpful
Thank you! This review is exactly what I needed..I’m not a huge fan of those benchmarks etc, and just wanted to know how it performs under real world circumstances. For me, I travel a lot and just want something to take with me when I travel and cafes to work on every day tasks. I really hesitated between the 1799 MBP and the upgraded i5 MBA, but just for the cost performance and the gold color I opted for the MBA based on your previous video. I’m waiting for it to arrive later this week! Sure, I still might get the MBP but after this review, I’m excited to play with the MBA and only upgrade to MBP when either the 14in or AMD version hits the market. Thanks again for your real life examples!
How I can see the temperature?
Hi, firstly thanks for the cool review! I’m looking to purchase the new Macbook Air and planning on keeping it for a good few years.
I’m thinking to go with the i5 since I don’t think the i7 is worth it. Do you think it’s better to upgrade to 16GB of ram or will 8GB be good enough for downloading windows and using engineering related softwares such as Matlab?
Should I get the core I3 or the core i5?
Thanks for the review! I’m in Aus and price is exactly the same for MBA i5 and entry MBP. What do you think is better for university research (lots of tabs open), zoom calls, diff apps open side by side and online classes?
I’ve currently got the 2017 MacBook Air 128gbs intel i5 5th gen I’m upgrading to the 2020 MacBook Air 512gbs intel i5 10 gen
your channel has been sooo useful! Thank you!!
keep the macbook clean when ur shooting it man , no one likes it dirty and all smudgy on camera
This was very informative! Thank you! I love your content and your personality is absolutely amazing. Can’t believe your subscriber count isn’t astronomically higher lol. I have a question.. well quite a few haha. So I currently have the 11 inch iPad Pro 2020. Would you recommend the i3 or the i5 MacBook Air as a complementary device? Also do you think upgrading the ram to 16gb is a good idea even though that takes it to the same price as the MBP? And at that point wouldn’t it just be better to get the base MBP? I thought of the magic keyboard for the iPad but it seems a little cramped and I didn’t like the material they used for it. Sorry about the questions , I’ve just been struggling with my decision for about 3 months now and in need of some help 😅
I have just ordered myself one of these machines and cannot stop watching reviews and videos of the MacBook Air lol
Subbed, thank you for this review…
