Whatever Mac that I buy, I want to keep for at least five years. Should I up the ram to 16gb?

My other question pertains to gaming. Most of my games are over five years old. I’m talking about strategy games like the Total War series. Would this machine suffice?

Thank you! My daughter’s MBA arrives soon – went with i5/16/512…looking forward to see how it performs. She’s is most definitely NOT a power user with things like video editing or power gaming or coding. I mainly got the upgrades to future proof it as much as possible. I have the exact same model and I’m debating returning it because I watch twitch heavily especially while I’m working and in doing that I’ve seen my CPU hit as high as 98-100c steady, this is just video playback as well I have nothing else running.. because of this I’m debating getting the base Pro

My 2020 Air arrived 2 weeks ago.I’ve got the 16 gb model with Core i7 processor and so far I’ve only heard the fans once when I opened 4K 60fps video on Youtube via Сhrome.I made my own video with iMovie to test if there are any thermal issues, but everything was ok.I am very happy with this laptop!
You promised a tips and tricks video for beginners in Mac OS Catalina- I’m still waiting for it 😉

the fan on my MBA2020, same model as you use is never this loud. Tried to push it to its limits, with about 15 YouTube Videos running, Asphalt 9 playing, some Foto and Video editing…I realized that the fan turned on, but hat to put my TV and everything else on silent and hat to put the MacBook right to my ear, to hear the fan…my thoughts were: “oh, cute!” So people around there, don’t mind that. Its a MacBook Air, so what are you expecting?! Thumbs up for that video! Like your content
