1:25 Are you crying?
Took Apple 3-4 years to jump on quad-core for its cheapest Macbook Pro. Meanwhile, they’re still stuck on this terrible keyboard. I will keep my 15″ Macbook Pro 2015 for another 4 years until they decide to make a keyboard that doesn’t break because of dust particles or heat.
I think the only “what if” and “caveat” is the keyboard reliability because the air’s target audience is going to be people who surf web and mail, multimedia, edit text etc considering its processor. The specs at the moment are pretty good for those tasks already. Thus spec bumps in future years (if there will be) will be negligible. But of course the next iteration will probably be better (as it should) its just that it doesn’t really make a difference when taken into consideration what people use it for and what the air currently offers.
So updated checklist: (listed by importance)
1. needs normal Scissor-switch keyboard
2. needs bigger battery
3. needs a 10nm intel quad core processor
4. needs better cooling and revised reliability and NOT soldered on ssd.
5. needs thinner bezels. (more portable)
😨😨😨😨
for trading which one i should go for air or pro
How is a laptop that is too slow to do productivity tasks and that has a keyboard that is a risk to use a “good” laptop? Jesus. That’s like saying a car that has wheels that can fall off and that has bad MPG is a good car. Dillusional.
The original MacBook Air revolutionized laptop design and created the new category of ultrabooks. It took years for the competition to catch up, which Dell probably did with the XPS, and then some. The current MacBook Air is more of what Apple is generally doing now with its product lines, which is not falling too far behind the competition, and relying on loyalty to Apple products and the ecosystem from the fanbase.
When you looked at the original MacBook Air, you said wow. When you look at the current MacBook Air, you’re not saying wow. Heck, even my Dell Inspiron 7472 looks cooler in some ways because of the ultra-thin bezels. MacBooks no longer wow us with their innovation. They’re just hanging on to customers that used to be wowed, but are still loyal, for good reason, since the products are still very good, just not industry-shattering anymore.
Dieter is just born to review tech. 👌

Why do people watch these obnoxious videos? Idiots
A “pretty good” laptop shouldn’t come with 256GB of NON-UPGRADABLE storage in 2019.
is it just me or is the audio and video out of sync?
You’ve got to be REALLY spoiled to think that the webcam looks bad.
4th bullet point: slower ssd than last years model
If Apple wants to stay relevant they need to catch up on computing power.
Default lies in ourselves…
Short answer: No
Reason: keyboard + others
Won’t buy a new MacBook until they get rid of the butterfly keyboard. Basically buying a broken product out of the box.
After using an XPS I don’t think I could go back to 15mm bezels.
