No issues here with the 1.8ghz 2017 model. Found one for $300. I upgraded the 128gb to 512gb($65 on eBay for the apple Samsung one in the pros). Stores all my photos I have ever taken in photos app fine. Does all my edits just fine in affinity photo.

Also if you install a LCD color profile online it helps 100%

Dude, I’m using a 2010 i3 iMac (non ssd drive, 6 GB of RAM) for 4K video editing and it does a great job. Little slow but still very good results with iMovie and Final Cut Pro. So, you are saying that an i5, with an SSD drive and 8gb of RAM will not work? Have you actually tried it?

Got that right, most people buy these types of laptop just to get things done. Usually these are telecommuting work, word processing, spreadsheets, basic image editing. What other tech reviewer missed the mark is that, if we wanted a computer to do all the other stuff, we also have a dedicated computer for that.

I just bought my 2015 MacBook Air last week and so far I’m very pleased with it. I also play football manager on it and it works great so I guess photo editors and video editors would also do fine on this MacBook. And here in Slovenia it only costs around 400bucks.

Unless you are a programmer or video editor I m impressed how many people put it down. Let me tell you us a fantastic laptop, sounds great, works great easy to carry around. I’m a teacher and let me tell you I love it. Is not for playing games is for grown ups. I got a couple and love it, bought it used for $130

Not sure if it’s still worth it, but for me..it’s my main machine and has been for 7 years now.. Granted I don’t do anything too intense, and except for showing small signs of being less snappy, still works!

I’m still using my Early 2015 MacBook Air 11-inch for my basic internet/email use and have no issues with Monterey MacOS 12. I pair my audio to my bluetooth speakers… no issues using this laptop 🙂

I just got one a few days ago and I am really happy with it. I’m not a heavy user and would only be using it for web browsing and media consumption so I guess it’s really perfect. it’s a bargain!

Can you run Illustrator and Garageband smooth? On my macmini mid 2011 (2,3 GHz i5 8gb ram) it runs smooth, but maybe an Macbook Air 2015 is lower? or is it better?

My first video on your channel and it was great! I’m looking at one of these computers as a secondary laptop to my 17″ Chromebook. I just want to run some light apps including Opus One. Maybe learn some iOS development with xCode :). I also don’t want to spend $1K on a computer!

I bought my daughter an MBA is 2015 and maxed it out with a Core i7, 16 Gb of RAM and 512 Gb SSD. She’s gotten good use out of it in High School and College, but it was starting to look a little old, so I got a new M1 Air to replace it. The display is WAY better, it’s quicker, quieter, has better battery life and is even a bit smaller. I had waited because the “butterfly keyboard” Macs were awful, but the M1 Air is a great laptop. What’s funny is that top-specced 2015 Airs like hers are still pretty expensive on the used market and go for $600 or so, which is only a few dollars less than a base model M1 Air.
I wouldn’t say that the 2015 Air is a bad laptop and it’s nice that you can swap the drive on it, which you can’t with the newer ones. But unless you get one very cheaply, I’d have to say that an M1 Air is a better choice now. The 2015 is a lot slower, the display is much worse and the fans can get noisy.
