If your not going to be doing some serious editing then the i5 is going to be fine. It might also save you a bit of battery.

im buying stock version with 128GB, I already have an 500GB external hard-drive USB. Much cheaper to get an external hard-drive IMO

I plan to use it to create some PPT, word editing, web, light gaming like age of empires 3 and fifa. But my fear is that i buy a macbook air and in a few months it apears a retina macbook air and mine gets obsolete. :s

I would like to put my problem out there. I am going to go and study at a University across the country next year, and I will be needing a Notebook. I already have the new Mac Mini, but decided that I would either get the base model 13 inch Macbook Pro 2.5 GHz, or for the same price I could get the Macbook Air 13 inch 128 GB 1.8 GHz. I don’t really game at all, but I do some video editing on a regular basis. Is it better to go with the fatter, heavier macbook pro and get more power?

As long as you do not game to much you should be fine although you might want to consider an external hard drive like my brother runs with his so he can store extra sound files for music editing and the 10,000 photos he has taken over the years.
