Get an Air. Better screen, and SSDs are far better than HDDs. If you must get a macbook, get an air. Odds are that if you’re looking between the Air and the 13″ Pro then you don’t need that much processing power and therefore the slightly slower processor on the Air will be MORE than enough.

lol the hypocrisy!! Says that Apple is over rated and than talk about Alienware…. Dude, Air is an ultra-book, for $1200 it’s a good deal! over ultra-books like the Samsung series 9 costs $200 more and its does a lower ram and other specs! 😀

ill wait for the macbook pro (fat) with retina display, soldered ram and ssd is bad , SSH and HDD usually fails first and then RAM.. and next year macbook pros might have intel “haswel” and nvidia “maxwel”..

one of the reasons that it doesn’t have a disk drive is because lots of people get games and movies though services like steam and itunes (no wonder there is no disk drive right) and for your information the alienware computers are mainly for gaming and not really for socializing though the internet, so if you don’t like the computer, that’s your opinion but trolls like you have nothing better to do then complain on the internet and you will complain on anything to get attention

can the 13 inch base model macbook air hold up while using programs such as final cut pro 10, cinema 4d and autocad/3d rendering software, I know the pro can handle it, just wondering

Uhhh it’s a lot more powerful than a tablet. Also discs are becoming obsolete. I still buy music CD’s because I have a record store near my house, but this computer not having a CD drive doesn’t matter to me. It may matter to you though.
