Imagine having a machine that you can expand and have whatever hardware you want ranging from $300 to $70,000. I’m so glad Apple was the first to do it… oh wait.

You can spend a mere $6,000 for a ho-hum 8-core Xeon system, a tiny SSD and no out-of-the-box drive expansion or upgrade options, or spend way too much for something that will probably be outperformed by a far cheaper Core i9, Ryzen 9 or Threadripper system.
Buyer beware: There is no way to add a hard drive or SSD to the new Mac Pro without buying expensive additional hardware ($400!) and you cannot replace the included SSD due to its being tied to the T2 chip. Oh, and power cables for a third-party graphics card will also run you an extra $80.

My opinion of the design – it’s cool to look at, but then it doesn’t offer any drive bays. I like having an internal optical drive in my PCs. I also don’t like that you have to unplug everything before you can remove the shell and get at the innards. It’s a high-price, pain-in-the-ass Apple system through and through. I also disagree that installing and maintaining system components is “much easier” than on a typical PC, since I can open my towers by, depending on the case, removing a couple of thumb screws or opening a simple latch and removing the panel. I don’t have to unplug anything first, and components are easy enough to get at once the panel is removed. Even the Dune Pro case does a better job than Apple did with this one.

LOL! You spoke of spending $200 to add an amount of RAM that Apple would charge you $1200 for as though that were a good thing! Yeah, isn’t it just great that Apple screws their customers on component prices!

There are several factors in Mac speed ups. One resource I found which successfully combines these is the Mels Speed Method (google it if you’re interested) without a doubt the most useful treatment i’ve heard of.Check out the incredible information .

You cant really put anything in those Mac PCIe slots.

1) There are no sata power cables or PCIe compatible power cables. Some add in cards do require them.

2) No Mac drivers. A lot of off the shelve cards will not work on the Mac due to no drivers. Since the Mac Pro cost more than a Honda Civic I doubt most cards manufacturers will want to spend extra adding Mac support.

3) MPX modules are cool but again it’s an apple’s custom standard. Currently all MPX modules (dual Vega 20, 4 drive raid controller) cost a fortune. On a PC I can get 4 RTX 2080 Ti for less than a Radeon Pro dual MPX.

You do realize that 5,450 USD went into the Packing and only like 500 bucks goes into the actual Mac Pro, right??? I mean seriously, more money went into the Packing than the actual Mac Pro. Wow, how you Mac Mowron post these videos like you just accomplished something. Oh wait, Achievement Unlocked, KING MOWRON, given to anyone stupid enough to invest in Mac Products… Wow, I feel sorry for you to have so much money that you have to waste it on crap like this. But wait, THERE’S MORE, Idiots like you keep Apple in business operating at a 300% Profit margin, well done Mowron….
