sir, how did you power the graphics card?
Jeff, Thanks for a very well done video. Great explanations and absolutely appreciate the installation demonstration on the various components you presented. I really enjoyed it.
The best review! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I remember when all tech products had beefy manuals and how to books, many in full color, including Apple, along with trouble shooting guides.
Now companies are cheap, claiming they are “green”.
No, they are cheap, they say use electricity to go online and see the manual they should give to you.
Hard to do when you cannot get connected,
Like your local retail store is cheap, getting rid of cashier jobs, but not lowering prices to reflect that.
You are the cashier now, you scan, you bag, you handle card, cash, and change.
But you do not get paid for your job, or any benefits.
Talk about no customer service.
They should at least give you 2 percent off for doing everything yourself.
And if there is a problem, you wait and wait and wait, for the single cashier to arrive.
That Mac Pro would cost you £6,219.00 from Apple UK
Excuse me if you haven’t done it already, but I’d love to know the performance comparisons between this, the best iMac Pro and the 2017/2019 iMac. I have the 2017 – I wanna know what I’m missing lol.
The best Mac Pro introduction so far!
The worst thing is the T2 chip. Apple could brick these at anytime.
The second worst thing is only 1 year/90Day bring it in to the store warranty for $6000.
It should be 3 years and at home.
Third is you have to buy an adapter to put in 4 spinning drives, and no internal optical drive bays.
two things the former mac pro had for free.
Fourth is bottom of the barrel base spec, we are talking under $1000 dollar PC specs, which would actually perform better at most things.
So if you are not going to upgrade in the future, this is a terrible buy.
The good thing is this is a worthy modern successor to the Mac Pro towers from 2006-2012.
We are still great computers and useful because you can upgrade them after the fact and are pretty much as fast or faster than every mac computer in most things except this one when upgraded with the latest video cards, nvme storage, raid inside without pegasus, and 12 core cpu on the cheap.
and some have even hacked thunderbolt cards to work.

someone needs to make a custom tempered glass outside case and get rid of the huge apple logo one.
How could Apple forget to add removable dust filters?
All of the great engineering and they forget that simple thing.
You’re basically paying 5 grand for the case, for some people it can be worth though. For super stressed people who are not tech enthusiasts but still have to buy a workstation and don’t have an IT department at hand.
It should be the best for that money!!
Apple really went cheap bottom of the barrel on the specs of the $6000 base model.
256GB ssd, ouch.
4 year old 8GB radeon 580 (X is pointless)
32GB ram, really?
I guess Apple figured they are losing money by allowing upgrades, so they added the price of upgrades, like 1 tb ssd, 16GB radeon Vega 11, 64GB ram, 12 core Xeon.
And then decided not to give them to us, bought still add it to the price, inflating the base model to $6000, instead of the $3000 it should be.
as punishment for demanding we should be able to upgrade our machines and repair them ourselves.
oh yea such great modules 32tb hard drives for 2300$ when you can get two 16tb hdd for 400$ a piece so 800$ total. i am glad that you will continue to be ripped off over the life time of this machine. shaking my head. people living in the apple bubble are just sad.
Do this for gaming!!
There is room between the Mac Mini and the Mac Pro, call it simply “Mac”.
Dear Santa…
Is it possible to insert and power 3 Nvidia gpus leaving in also the default Radeon gpu?
Hang on…the CPU is user-replaceable?? I haven’t seen that anywhere else.
Great video! I especially liked that you mentioned the upgradeable CPU. No reviewer has mentioned that yet that I know of and is Incredibly helpful. Have the base 8-core? Upgrade to the 24-core in a couple of years at a much cheaper price..
Though, I think the iMac Pro and Mac Pro markets are quite different and depends greatly on your needs. At the end of the day, I think you have to be a high-end, high-volume creator to justify the Mac Pro on a professional level. Or, maybe you just have the money and want an awesome machine. That’s fine too!
I love this machine and look forward to the day where I can justify it as well. Keep up the great work!
