Check out Metro Exodus and Lara Croft’s Shadow Of The Tomb Raider I am curious how much better did it Got
Summary is $4000 computer runs games like shit. Performance scaling issue with M1/M2 Ultra still not fixed.
Seems a bit early for games testing, sadly – 45FPS on Diablo 4 on medium on what is probably an expensive Mac Studio… That’s not great. I get that this is a worst case scenario right now until people use the APIs etc but still…
How do games like Total War: Rome II work?🤔
Another thing to note – CSGO is hard to play on Mac because of the native mouse acceleration
@Andrew Tsai, may i ask ask you how you fix Screenflickering with the Benq Monitor? I had Problems with this screen on Macbook Pro M1 – 13″, on Macbook Pro 1 Max and also now on the Macbook Pro M2 Pro. I cant fix it, when i have Darkmode one, the whole Screen starts to flicker, Tried DP Adapter with USB C, HDMI wit Adapter and with HDMI. If i connect on my Razer 18″ i have no flickering but on the Working Laptop (Mac) it start to flicker, smirr and to lose Color. Maybe you can help mit with that Problem. The Screen runs perfect on Xbox, Pc but on Mac i have terrible Problems.
I gave up when this guy said that gta v isnt very well optimized, like man u can get this game working on a potato with higher frame rates, its not that the game isnt optimized its just that its going trough many translation layers , its a windows binary that goes trough wine then trough that roesta thingy thats x86 to arm ASM and then then dxvk to metal so u get 3 layers of emulation pretty much , its not the games fault, its sad to see tech channels not doing their research
make sure that you launch the GPTK sans esync. there is a file called launch without esync and it made worlds of difference for eldenring on base m2 chip on MAX settings, inside dungeons. low settings run fairly well though through most of it. considering that this is just the BETA, this is phenomenal as a tech enthusiast in general
Question Anyone? Have a base M1 Mini and want to get a Max Studio 24 GPU. Is it worth it to get it now or should I wait for lower M2 prices? Thanks for any input.!
Would really love to see BeamNG drive with porting kit, a lot of issues have been had with textures/shaders with other methods. as it stresses the cpu and gpu quite a bit it could be a good performance test!
60 GPU cores = 4070Ti. 76 GPU cores = 4080.
I would love to see a video comparing the low end chips like m1 and m2 macbook airs.
Well it’s the first time i heard someone saying gta v it’s badly optimized game 🤔
Whoopi is gonna be stoked for Diablo
Layers of Fear DOES have Lumen/Ray Tracing enabled. It’s just software based.
So basically, native, optimised games run beautifully, such as No Man’s Sky and Layers of Fear. Signs of more good things ahead. Let’s get Bungie to do a native port of Destiny 2 (and Marathon) then they can finally come full-circle from their original Mac-exclusive heritage before being purchased by Microsoft so they could own Halo.
What about Microsoft flight simulator? And Madden
Personally, I’m excited with these news regarding Apple gaming and this GPTK. Apple’s now (kind of) being lowkey “humble” to admit their mistakes about the management’s view on gaming in the previous years (yeah…I think Jobs admitted that gaming will not be benefitial to Mac).
Apple Silicon and the M-series chips shook the industry, they may be late in the game, but it’s high time Apple to shake the gaming industry as well.
Awesome video! One suggestion: quick comparisons to common PC systems like a 3080 or 4080 or 7900XT system would be nice, especially to see how apple silicon compares when we have optimized games like No Man’s Sky to see potential of Apple Silicon for future game ports.
Can the Mac Studio M2 Max/64GB achieve 60fps ?
