So i guess the ultra models are not good for mac gaming? Max supremacy then :v
Shadow of tomb raider????
Any chance you can give Elite Dangerous: Odyssey a try?
Never will understand how Youtubers that do these test never include World of Warcraft. They have a NATIVE M-processor client. it’s one of the few games MADE to run on a MAC. If you don’t already know that, you shouldn’t be doing these kinds of videos.
imagine if modern macs could actually support external gpus. would be fun to see how performance changes then. if only!
Thank you so much 🙌🏼 can you please test AC Valhalla and Odysee with the game proting toolkit? Never read something about those 2
Battlebit?
would love it if you could test Street fighter 6.
Thank you so much for this video. I’m super ready to switch to apple silicon for gaming. I’d love to have a 40 watt gaming rig instead of 500 watt one. But as your benchmarks show, even the m2 ultra is still a gaming disappointment (as in: I want at least 120hz at full hd with high graphics in most games)
I wonder how long it might take games like iRacing or DCS to be playable on Apple Silicon 👀
Uncharted is a pretty graphics intensive game and I am curious if it can run through the Game Porting Tool on a Mac.
About ray-tracing support: Metal does have ray-tracing as part of the API, but it is all done through traditional GPU compute and therefore isn’t nearly performant enough for games. Apple’s GPU likely do not have ray-tracing acceleration hardware blocks as implemented by other GPU vendors yet, and should you use an AMD RDNA2 GPU in a compatible Mac Pro it won’t take advantage of them either. That is why game developers are holding out on implementing ray-tracing until the hardware properly supports it.
It’s safe to say that if mac gaming does become a thing the two most popular chips for gaming will be the Max chip and Pro chip right? The Max will be what we want but the pro will be what we can afford.
Do you think you could try the game RUST? Very curious what the performance would be on a max m2
this gaming porting toolkit api will help a lot and Apple did a really good job to port easily games to the Mac , one question I have though I use the switch emulator and a ton of others for all consoles, and the Mac is a emulation heaven if you have an M1 ultra to an M2 ultra chip ( including the Max ) my question was how to you manage to get that performance graph even on the switch emulator ? do I need to install Sonoma for that ?
I’d say any traveling Minecraft gamer should get. If one can afford it
Does no mans sky have ray tracing never played it so asking afaik metal has nothing for that right ?
I would rather buy a dedicated graphics card for gaming than this crap. 10x the money and performance -10x.
pls base m1 test 🙁
Could you test Halo MCC?
