Many games on mac have something really strange. For example, I have mac mini m2 pro 10/16 and Dota 2. I have 50-60 fps on low settings 1080p and stable 60 fps on almost max settings in 4k resolution. WHY? I don’t know. It’s not scale, it’s just works strange. Many unoptimized games do have something and if you try some different graphic settings it can be really good.

When you play No Man’s Sky on a M2 Mac what game controller are you using? I have been using a Sony DualSense wireless controller and also tried a Sony Dual Shock 4 controller, and both randomly lose connection during game play. I have to press the PlayStation button to reconnect the controller with the game. I tried disabling the Steam overlay and still have the issue. I have not experienced this with other games on M2 Mac (native, Rosseta 2, running via CrossOver, or running within Parallels Desktop), so I suspect it is specific to No Man’s Sky. I am going try playing No Man’s Sky with an Xbox Elite 2 controller to see if this avoids the controller connection dropout problem.

So I just bought a M2 Ultra MAc Studio going to pick it up now, i bought it to play games, I am selling my RTX 4090 RIG. just sick of windows and prefer mac, I have a M2 Max studio diablo 4 plays great at 5120×1440 on my new Samsung OLED 49″ super ultra wide. so we shall see hot the m2 Ultra does. I know i am crazy for selling my RTX 4090 rig with I9 13900KS. I just sick of windows .. sucks no more drivers from nvidia for hackintosh. Anyways Love your channell SO i joined. I am going to try Whiskey this time its has a GUI for GPT suppose to make it very easy to install have you tried it yet?

It is quite likely that the “Glue” between the 2 chips of the Ultra is the problem. Core to Core latency must be really high(CPUs being at the outer edges) and also the GPUs might have a “SLI” problem that can introduce hitching due to frame pacing problems introduced by basically having 2 separate GPUs…
