Does this mean the m2 pro max mini supports promotion? Or no? Confused. Help!
USB-C is good for more than 30HZ with an 4K Monitor on the M1 Max, so I do not see the Problem. I prefer more GPU Cores over more CPU Cores. I would choose the M1 Max studio.
I’m exactly at this point but the form factor and the newest processor gives advantage to Mini, imo. Hopefully there will be lots of reviews pointin one over another before I buy, two months from now.
Aaaahhhh!!!! Homepod
It all comes down to the M2 Pro Mini performance vs. the max studio. Connectivity issues can be addressed later if you need, such as the HDMI 4K@144 difference can be addressed on the studio with a TB->HDMI 2.1 cable or adapter. Personally, I’m most interested in the performance of the base model @$599. If it’s acceptable, you could trick it out with more RAM and drive space and have a killer deal of a machine. If you need more ports later, you could add on a hub or dock.
sorry – NO that is not “the same”:
The MacMini has a M2 “PRO”-CPU – the MacStudio has a M1 “MAX”-CPU.
… M2 is a little bit faster than M1, BUT der MAX-Version is double to PRO-Version !
… internal M2 Pro “200GB/s memory bandwidth” ins M1 Max it is 400GB/s memory bandwidth. THAT is much more …
but what happens when the M2 version of the studio comes out – if they don’t increase the base unit cost, how to hell can you justify the Mac Mini with the Pro chip it’ll literally cost less to get the studio with an M2 Max, that doesn’t make any sense. Unless … we’re not going to see another studio, the Mac Pro will get the Max and the Ultra and bye-bye Studio (gone the way for the iMac pro and it was just a stop gap) or we wont get a new one for a couple of years
I bet the Studio gets an upgrade next. The Studio has a better cooling system too
Apple know how to price things to make you go crazy
When you mentioned this comparison in yesterday’s video after I had ordered my Mac Mini M2 Pro I started second-guessing my order…but I didn’t get the core upgrade, I got the base M2 Pro core with 32Gb Memory and 1Tb storage. This video makes me feel better about it, I love the size of the mini, so even if I didn’t make the best-value purchase I’m okay with it, plus I don’t really care for the better graphic performance…hopefully heating doesn’t become an issue.
got the Mac Studio Max 32GB 2TB last December. If only………???
If i had to pick the $2000 computer, id probably go with the Mac Studio. If I could spec them out the way I wanted, I would go M2 Pro Mac Mini with 32GB of RAM and the 10G ethernet. What I really want is an iMac with the M2 Pro 32GB of RAM and 10G ethernet, in purple, but IDK if Apple would ever do that.
Don’t worry they’ll fix the pricing by introducing the M2 Studio with higher base price.
the only worth buying option for mac mini m2pro will be base version
Apart 400GB vs 200GB X sec and other specs you know that on March or WWDC APPLE will release new Mac STUDIO with M2 Max and Ultra and Imac with M2 and M2 pro…so…
It needs to be tested side by side first. Before that it is hard to make any conclusions.
Remember here, you’re comparing the M2 Pro to the M1 MAX – so while yes, its correct to say that the M2 Pro would be a better bet CPU-wise over the M1 version, it remains to be seen if that’s the case for the Max, which has substantially better performance. There’s also the question of memory and SSD bandwidth which is much faster on the Studio. (The upshot being that the decision is even muddier!)
You need to see it through the eyes of the seller (Apple), and not the consumer (you). From Apple’s point of view, they get to sell less stuff for more money. It’s a win!!!
I guess the Mac Studio will be discontinued as soon as the new Mac Pro comes out
