You should have matched the loudnesses of all mic comparisons here so the bias of loudness doesn’t get to us. Regardless, I always go back here for the best takes on Apple.

I would guess there is barely any sense in the M2 MacBook – Air or Pro.
The Air with 16GB RAM and a small SSD upgrade is already very close in price to a 14″ M1 Pro machine with out of the box 16GB Ram and bigger SSD. And there are too much benefits, if you need them now or not… they cant be denied and damn…. HDMI and SD card slot is more or less the minimum in my opinion at any premium notebook!

If The M2s would have come standard with minimum 16GB Ram (or at least a very cheap 8GB base model and a “more pro” 16GB upgraded model for the price of the actual base model… well i would definately think about it.

if you add 24gb of ram…well what can I say… you are at a minimum a fool….just get the M1 pro, it runs circles around the measly M2….seriously….the entry M2s are for the people who didnt buy an M1 MBA and dont want the M1 now because of the design…

Had the 13” MBP w/M1 and every option, and I traded it in on a loaded 16” MBP M1 Max. It was a paradigm shift in capabilities. I imagine the m2 is much better than that original m1, but not even close to the M1 Pro or M1 Max (and that’s not even mentioning the ridiculously powerful ultra in the Mac studio)
That said, I’m buying the new air for my college kid next month

Camtasia video recording/editing, emails, Teams, chrome, phone mirroring – currently have Dell XPS 13 9310. Which is best/which spec? Travel a lot for work and have an external screen (just the one 😉 ), mouse and 2K webcam plugged into a USB-C dock. Dell too slow/overheating. iPhone 12 Pro Max owner too… help me choose!

I actually don’t see the reason for a comparison
to intel ice and skylake cpus.
There a lot off Macs with better cpu performance, and in the Pc world was already alderlake released.

There is absolutely no reason for the M2 MacBook Pro 13 to exist in 2022 Apple should have made an M2 Macbook Pro 14 starting at 1399
