The Macbook Pro WOULD be what the iPhone SE is, if it actually is cheaper… The iPhone SE costs $430 compared to back then an iPhone 8 for $700. But the Macbook Pro 13″ still costs $100 more than the newer and simply WAY better MBA with M2. Which is kinda ridiculous.
There is just no need for this Macbook in my opinion besides making the lineup more confusing instead of simpler (which is what I hoped for when Apple switched to their own chips).

M2 Macbook Pro would have been better if they put a third Thunderbolt port on the right side so you can plug in the charger on either side of the laptop.

The power consumption is actually even more impressive then your example because the MBA with M2 normally even comes with a 35W adapter and the iPad Pro with M1 (which has about the same power consumption as the M2) even runs on a 20W adapter – despite the gigantic 12.9″ miniLED screen.

I’m mainly looking to edit on photoshop without tooo much lag when applying effects and transforming layers/texts. I’m between the m2 Air and the M1 pro because of the body and magsafe…M1 pro’s speakers are so much better though. It’s just the stark price difference.

Best to mention the base M2 MB Air will have binned GPU cores, only 8 -v- the 10 on the MB Pro base, so effectively that is 25% more GPU horsepower when needed? So to get the same spec Air means both are at $1300 eliminating any reason to base a decision on price as all the spec upgrades are exactly the same from then on. Until we see final tests with the MB Air -v- Pro we will not know what performance differences, though I only expect the Pro will be better in sustained loads. We assume Apple’s claim that the Pro has 10% better battery life is correct and the studio mics will be much better than the MB Airs. So these pros along with the TouchBar could sway those leaning towards max utility rather than simply new looks and upgrades like 1080p webcam and better speakers and MagSafe.

I would go for the 13″ MBP if it only had the MagSafe and support for 1 billion colors. I don’t mind the old design and I actually find the touchbar to be very useful.

Probably the only famous Western tech channel that provides pricing Indian Rupees and other currencies as well in the price chart. The other channels simply ignores it and puts only the US prices, which for Apple products, is always mostly lower than in the rest of the world.
As for this M2 13″ MBP, I’d rather wait for the reviews of the M2 Air or get the 14″ MBP with M1 Pro chip.
