I use that form factor daily as a dev, using touchpad, no external keyboard. Works for me. Nobody comes close to the MacBook touchpad.

Huh, I wonder when Dave’s able to get a MBA M2, how much of this tune will change. Compared to the previous version and PC, sure I can see the upside. Compared to the new Air to come, it seems like a downgrade for more money. 🤷‍♂️

Dell actually has MANY laptops that have older designs, even up to 10 years old. However, those aren’t top end laptops. And neither is the M2 MacBook Pro, it’s an entry level laptop. There is no real reason to change the design, as long as it works.

Bezels dont affect my work, you are just bullshitting dude, when you were talking about that. Also, chasis being an old design means nothingas long as it doesnt affect the performance.

I don’t get why people call the 2016 Macbook Pro and 2018 MacBook Air ‘dated looking’, They still look better than 80% of all the other laptops. The absolute only thing that makes them look dated, are the bezels, but that’s it. These laptos were just that ahead of their time in terms of design.

It still works for now, but I just get the feeling that this is symptomatic of an ever growing mindset in Apple. “Just do this, because we can.” That works now, but history shows that’s never permanent.

I’m OK with the design its good. The thing is , they should of replaced the screen. That screen is no longer compative. Yes , this 13 inch pro is what they give in companies to employes that use Macs. That is the target audiance and that is why they can get away with old hardware still in stock. Its the same with windos machines. Here is a good example. I work for Lenovo and last year they replaced my old company latop with “bran new , out of the factory” Thinkpad A485 – that model is 2019 and was given to Lenovo/IBM employees in 2021-2022.

Dave if I want to speck an m2 air 16/1 tb, 1899.00. Should I just spend the 300 to 600 more on the 14 inch pro. Binned chip 16/1 tb, 2199, reg pro chip 16/1 tb, 2499. Is the better screen and faster ssd worth the extra cash?

Sorry this terrible laptop only exists for them to raise the prices on the M2 Pro laptops.
I’m sure when they drop, reviewers are gonna say what a “great price” this laptop is.
Stop reviewing Apple devices without the price in mind, because that’s a terrible double standard that keeps Apple getting good reviews for bad products
